There are many beautiful walks surrounding The Bield, just get your boots on and head straight out the front door. For adventurous cyclists, Sustrans Cycle Route 7, a challenging long-distance route from Sunderland to Inverness, passes nearby with breathtaking views of forests, hills and lochs. Just a 5-minute drive from The Bield, you’ll find the gently rolling tracks around the picturesque Loch Ard which are made for exploring by bike or on foot, with sculpture trails and play features to find. Makes a great fun day for all the family with woodland and water-loving wildlife along the way to look out for.
Take a cruise on the steamship ’Sir Walter Scott’ on Loch Katrine, one of Scotland’s iconic lochs offering fabulous views best seen from the water. You can take your own bikes or hire bikes from The Pier, board the boat and disembark from Stronachlacher, 13 miles down the loch. Weekend Break

Great family accommodation. 7 bedrooms meant that we could all stay under one roof. 6 month old to 63 year olds catered for. Excellent kitchen and everything you need. Hot tub was a bonus. Loved it.
