About this property
Thwaite Cottage - historic house in Coniston with large garden
Thwaite Cottage is a newly-refurbished, whitewashed family home dating back to the 1600s. Set in a quiet location on the outskirts of Coniston, this pretty yet substantial home enjoys an enviable position very close to the lake and boasts a delightful and extensive mature garden.
This charming cottage is packed with character while extensive refurbishments works ensure modern comforts and luxurious touches are to be found throughout. Upon entering this utterly unique home-from-home, original features combine with stylish decor and luxurious finishes to create a true one-of-a-kind Lakeland cottage. The owners have lavished much care and attention on the recent renovations to ensure that a stay in Thwaite Cottage is one which will hold memories to treasure forever. Downstairs a grand living room, which is also open to the formal dining room, ensures there is ample space to get together and relax, while the spacious and carefully crafted kitchen, complete with stunning teal Aga, is simply a pleasure to cook within. Upstairs, each of the individually designed 4 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms offer guests a comfortable and stylish place to rest their heads after a busy day exploring the local area.
Outside guests can enjoy the use of the cottage's extensive gardens which include terraces, lawns and woodland and where you will discover wonderful places to dine, play or simply to sit and soak up the atmosphere of this unspoilt setting.
It terms of location, Thwaite Cottage enjoys the very best of both worlds, an idyllic position tucked away down a country lane, away from the hustle and bustle of Coniston yet with the village's pubs, restaurants and shops still within easy walking distance. And if it's the outdoors you crave then footpaths & cycle ways are close by, leading to the village, lake & surrounding fells and woodland.
In summary, Thwaite Cottage offers a completely unique and luxurious setting for your Lake District holiday where you can enjoy the incredible location and gorgeous interiors to your heart's content.
