Right in the heart of Whitby’s historic old town, this Grade II listed cottage is the perfect choice for couples looking for a break by the coast. All of the delights of this enchanting town are within a short walkable distance.. First Floor:

Bedroom: Double (4ft 6in) Bed
Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot. Welcome pack. . Parking permit for 1 car included. No smoking.. Quaker Cottage is situated on the street which runs along the harbour and down to Tate Hill beach, lined with quirky independent shops, cafés and restaurants, as well as traditional pubs. For guests who enjoy meals out you will be spoilt for choice. The house is next to the Quaker Church, which has now been converted into a popular Italian restaurant, originally the chaplain would have resided here with his family.
This quaint property has been lovingly refurnished throughout to provide guests with a welcoming and comfortable stay. On the ground floor there is a deli which is open through the day. Quaker House has its own separate entrance with stairs leading up to the open-plan living area, where you have a sofa in front of an electric fire and TV. Through an archway you have the kitchen which is compact yet well equipped with everything you could wish for, ready to whip up romantic meals to share. There is a fold-down table with two chairs, which is just the right size for couples.
Up on the second floor you have the beautifully presented double bedroom, complete with a dressing table as well as a wardrobe for all of your belongings. The house is completed with a bathroom. There are beamed ceilings throughout adding to the charm of the property, please note that the bathroom ceiling may be low for taller guests.
Immerse yourself in an authentic stay in the centre of Whitby, soaking up the scenery and taking in the fascinating history which has shaped your surroundings. The town is immensely proud of its seafaring heritage, with legends of Vikings, smugglers and heroic life boat rescues. You can savour the freshly caught fish and seafood in a selection of award-winning restaurants. You can also hop on board a boat out of the harbour, for a day trip bouncing over the waves of the bracing North Sea. Take in the fresh sea air with a walk down the pier, watch the sunset and see what inspires so many photographers, artists and writers. Follow the 199 steps to the top of the cliff where you have the iconic abbey, with fabulous views over the town. There’s something about Whitby that draws guests back year after year.
