Best times in budapest

Went to budapest to watch European final. Host was amazing, little glitch as far as changing my reserved place to another but all and all great experience. Host showed up at 3:30 am to welcome me which was awesome since I was in a foreign country.

NOT Luxury - check reviews on other property sites!

You can find this property listed under the same name on various other sites - read the reviews there and you'll know what I'm about to say isn't a one-off bad experience. To start, the property host contacted me on the day we were meant to check in to say there was a technical issue with the room and they were having to switch me to another. I asked if it would be the same standard - they said it would. There was no remote for the AC so we couldn't switch it on. It was 37 degrees C the 2 weeks we were in Budapest. We contacted the owner straight away and they said they would come the next day with a replacement remote. Only towels for one guest were supplied. All the plates were chipped and put away with pools of water in them. No curtains at all - they had been pulled down and shoved in the wardrobe. 2 forks in a room that should sleep +2 people. Door on shower had been removed so bathroom flooded every time you took a shower. Kettle was broken and needed to be replaced. The longer we stayed, the worse the sickening sewage stench from the bathroom got that they tried to cover up with a plug in air freshener. Of the two stools provided, one was badly broken, tilted forward and felt unsafe. No dishcloths or draining board for dishes. No dishwasher tablets for dishwasher. Kitchen surface top started to warp and come away. Entrance way was blocked with cleaning supplies and ladders. Host did bring remote for AC, towels and swapped kettle but no apology and uninterested.
