Luxury apartment - The Wine Lodges - Malmsey

Spacious and extremely comfortable, the two bedroom apartments are perfect for families and friends. A first floor apartment with a master bedroom, a guest bedroom, large sitting room area with a sofa bed that can sleep an additional 2 people, an entrance hall, 1 large bathroom, a dining area, a kitchen and a washing room.

Views overlooking the tropical town garden.

The Wine Lodges apartments have the advantage of being located in a privileged area of ​​the city, close to everything and with points of interest in the neighbourhood. Inside the building itself, one dare to say that guests can breath History in a building with more than 200 years but very well preserved and with areas that will make you wish to entertain as if you were at home.

Situated in front are the Municipal Gardens, worth a visit. Right next to the apartments, a visit to Blandy's Wine Lodges, the winery is a must. Opened daily for wine tastings and tours (where our guests have one free ticket per couple), one has the advantage of buying wine and collect it at the airport, after the customs.

Another must is having a meal inside 1811 Wine Bar, where our proprerty guests are entitled to a discount , while savouring a fantastic meal.

Close to The Municipal Theatre, The Cathedral, and Shoppping areas, the Wine Lodges apartments if for sure one of the best choices.

Excelente localização

A casa encontra-se num sitio privilegiado. Não irá faltar espaço e condições para um grupo poder cozinhar sempre que precisar ou de lavar roupa durante uma longa estadia. Recomendo totalmente para quem gosta de estar perto do centro e das atividades da cidade do Funchal. As única observações a fazer são: o chão está um pouco velho e acaba por ser um pouco incomodo principalmente à noite. A casa de banho tem o chão todo em ceramico, o que pode ser um pouco perigoso após um banho. De resto 5 estrelas.

L'appartement est idéalement situé, en plein coeur de la vieille ville. Le parking -si on en a besoin- est juste à côté. Il a le charme de l'ancien, il est très grand, et très confortable. Madieran Style with a view

Traditional & comfortable decor, beautiful view of the park, and comfortable bedrooms. The only thing is you can hear guests in the apartment above. There was a young child who was running back and forth and also rolling something that sounded so loud it was shaking the apartment. We later learned it was a stroller the child was pushing back and forth above us. Maybe set up more rugs in the upstairs units? Other than that, it was a very charming place.

Comfortable & Excellent location

The apartment is very large, comfortable, and well equipted. Best of all is the location - It is centrally located in Funchal, next to the Municipal Park. Very close to many shops, restaurants and the waterfront. The only downside was the noise from the tenants above (we were on the 1st floor) We experienced 2 different tenants during our stay and it was easy to hear people walking about - the last group seemed to be walking about all the time and it was very disruptive.

Good Overall, especially the location

The TV could do with more English speaking programmes and news channels. Also, the mattress in the main bedroom is coming to the end of its life. Repeated calls for more toilet paper were ignored, so we bought our own. We lacked a broom or brush and pan so were unable to easily clean up any spills or accidents. Apart from that, the apartment was very well equipped. We would definitely go back if we could get the first floor flat. The stairs are more challenging for the higher flats.

The secrets out!

What a fantastic find! The apartment was large and spacious, fully equipped with everything that you need. Centrally located, The Wine Lodge is in the perfect location situated next to a beautiful garden. The apartment is surrounded by great restaurants and a short walk to the cable cars and the old town. It’s also above Blandys Wine Cellars, what’s not to love? The welcome pack was a lovely surprise! Thank you!!!

Two days in Funchal

We had very big appartment, stylish and we found everything we needed. The appartent is located in a nice area of Funchal and central to explore the town. Every question was answered and Nuria organised a transfer to the airport in the night for us. Thank you very much.
