About this property
The Palais - Retro Style
Quirky retro style, gorgeous river views and a top location… The Palais is a city break pad with a difference! This two-bedroom second-floor apartment is located in the heart of Dundee’s popular West End. While the stone exterior of the building is pure traditional, there’s loads of 70s-inspired charm and fun to be had when you step inside.
The centrepiece of The Palais is the stunning lounge, with its huge bay window and views over the River Tay and Magdalen Green. Period features like the wood-framed fireplace make a charming contrast to the eclectic mix of traditional and mid-century furniture.
It’s a room made for relaxation, with comfy couches perfect for chilling out in front of the large television with Netflix, as well as a dining table by the bay window with seating for six for enjoying a meal with the view.
It’s also a room made for music, with old school records decorating the walls and a keyboard, guitar and record player that guests are encouraged to use. The Palais apartment is named after a former Dundee music venue where many famous acts rocked out in the 60s and 70s, from The Hollies, The Yardbirds to David Bowie – so you might find yourself channeling your inner rockstar and playing some tunes after a glass or wine or two!
The Palais also has a fully equipped kitchen and plus two bright and spacious bedrooms, each with a king bed. There’s a bathroom with a shower over bath in gleaming whites with a bright green floor for a groovy contrast.
