Union Street is a delightful cosy house set on a quiet street close to the centre of this vibrant town. The cosy interior has a welcoming sitting room and lovely kitchen/diner on the ground floor whilst upstairs boasts two excellent sized bedrooms, one with kingsize bed and one with twin beds, and the family shower room. Union Street is perfect for a couple or small family and is a real home from home where you can enjoy your stay in the lovely little town.
The historic town of Kirkcudbright is a lovely town on the Estuary, which still has a busy and bustling harbour and is a magnet for guests to the area. Stroll through the winding streets where you can visit the famous Broughton House, once home to E. A. Hornel. Kirkcudbright is known as the ’artists’ town’ having hosted generations of painters, craft makers and artisans – a culture still thriving today. Throughout the year visitors are attracted to the town as there are a diverse range of annual events from farmers’ markets, the country fair, the Jazz Festival, Festival of Light, the Riding of the Marches and of course the spectacular Tattoo, an event not to be missed. With some lovely little niche shops and fabulous places to eat, the town is an ideal location to base yourself while exploring this delightful area. A must for children and adults alike is a visit to the Dark Sky Planetarium, a state of the art interactive science and space themed experience for everyone, or you just may prefer the Dark Art Gin Distillery next door! Warmed by the Gulf Stream there are many beautiful gardens to visit, including Threave Gardens (National Trust). Close to the Galloway Forest Park, the first Dark Sky Park in the UK, and central to five of the 7Stanes, it is a popular location for cyclists and mountain bikers. The area has numerous walks available, from scenic coastal walks to forest trails. With sailing, swimming, riding, fishing, golf, boat trips and water sports close by, there is something to entertain everyone.
