About this property
Beach Life, Cabin-Vibes. Ocean views nr Bude
Summary:
After a day enjoying the adventure and diversity of North Cornwall’s rugged coastline, relax and unwind in this detached, stylish home. Enjoy the ocean and countryside views from the upstairs snug or warm yourself by the fire on the deck in the beautiful walled garden. You’re nestled amongst the countryside in the charming village of Poundstock, but still only a 5-minute drive to Widemouth Bay and 10 minutes to Bude.
The Space:
The house itself is a detached, light and spacious architect-designed eco home with 3 ground-floor bedrooms on the edge of the tranquil hamlet of Poundstock. The property is designed with pops of colour and raw wood details, mixing modern and mid-century furniture for a cosy cabin-like feel. Multiple bi-fold doors lead straight out onto the deck and wild garden. The open-plan layout is made for socialising and spending time together, for relaxing breakfasts and vibrant family feasts. You’ll find all the appliances you’d expect - a gas hob, oven, dishwasher, large fridge-freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, a cafetière and microwave.
Two of the bedrooms have king-size beds with luxurious mattresses and linens, whilst the third has two singles. As well as a family bathroom and WC, the largest room also boasts an en-suite. Our guests love watching the sunsets and ever-changing ocean views from the upstairs snug. Huge windows let the light flood in and offer great vistas over the surrounding countryside.
Private parking is available for 2 vehicles.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the whole property.
The Neighborhood:
Nestled near the lifeguarded, family-friendly, and expansive sandy beaches of Bude, Widemouth Bay, and Crackington Haven, our property is perfect for families and adventure lovers alike. The location is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, offering great cycling routes and brilliant surfing, bodyboarding, and kayaking on some of Cornwall's best beaches. Explore the scenic beauty of Boscastle and the remarkable, mythical castle at Tintagel. Spot a seal at the local Millook beach or hike over cliff tops and discover hidden wild coves on the nearby coastal path.
Immerse yourself in the thrill of wild swimming at the Bude Sea-Pool, a semi-natural tidal pool on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean or enjoy a culinary adventure with great independent options such as Temple in Bude(recently added to the Michelin Guide), La Bocca Pizzeria, and the Lab - offering stunning sea and beach views.
For quieter evenings the local independent Rebel Cinema is within walking distance, providing fantastic entertainment with all the current big-screen favourites.
Slightly further afield but within an easy day trip to the North, we love the wildness of the Hartland peninsula, the unspoiled, cliff-backed beach of Sandymouth and the no-cars harbour village of Clovelly. Port Isaac, Polzeath and Padstow are all within reach to the South and Tamar Lakes offers a great day out less than 15 miles away.
Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of Cornwall, we would recommend bringing a vehicle to make the most of your stay. There is private parking for one or two cars right next to the property.
Interaction with Guests:
We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
