About this property
Unique country lodge! <br>Pet friendly & close to everything in the area
Enjoy the peaceful countryside as close as you can get to city conveniences. I designed and built my home as a lodge retreat while pursuing my career abroad and I love sharing it with good people. My home is stocked with coffee and tea, spring water, soft drinks and snacks. Enjoy my porches looking out on green Kentucky pastures. Your house trained pet is most welcome. The backyard is fenced and has access to the large wrap around porch and back deck

We needed a pet friendly home in a rural location to accommodate our truck and dog trailer. There is a circular driveway, so we didn’t have to turn around. We were 20 minutes from the location of the event we were competing in, but also 10 minutes or so from Walmart, restaurants, etc. It was a very convenient location.
Tony’s home was great! This house is set up for 2 groups, each having their own bedroom and private bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked much of the time. The neighbors were so nice, as was his brother who stopped by to help, if needed. The goats out back, in their own pen separate from the fenced back yard, were fun!
Tony was very quick to respond with any problem or question. We stayed 2 weeks. The house was the best one we’ve rented and met our needs perfectly. We truly loved our stay!
We wanted a nice place to meet and celebrate Thanksgiving/Christmas with our children and their families. This exceeded our expectations! It is roomy and our granddaughters loved the goats in the backyard. It is the perfect home away from home to relax and visit with family. We go to Paducah every other year and hopefully this will be our standing place to stay whenever we return home.
We went to Paducah to view the eclipse. Our stay at the lodge was perfect. Our lab loved the lawn and the fenced yard, and especially the goats and the cows. The location was perfect for viewing the eclipse away from the madding crowds. Tony our host was super attentive and responsive, gave great recommendations for Restaurants. The house was very well equipped with everything you would need.
Thank you, Tony for memorable visit.
We have stayed at this property before, and it does not disappoint. Communication with the owner is excellent. We were there with our two pre-teen grandchildren, who also really enjoyed the location. We have family in the area and plan on staying here every year.
Easy to find and just as promised.
It was like walking into home, clean, front porch light on and very relaxing.
Great layout with 2 bedrooms and 2 b bathrooms, the open floor plan of the kitchen and great room were perfect and enjoyed greatly.
I cannot even begin to express in words how wonderful this stay was. So relaxing. Huge TV screen. Great porches allowing the dogs space to move around plus the fenced backyard and the goats who quietly entertained all of us. If there was something from home you were missing, there it sat. Tony had everything covered. Magnificent stay!
My wife and I wanted a nice week away from the rat race that is Chicago, and this was the perfect getaway. Very nice lodge, very peaceful pastoral setting, yet only 2 miles from the nearest Starbucks. The bonus were the three resident goats, Clementine, Camille, and Butterfly.🐐 Hint: they be bribed with saltines. Tony was an excellent host and was very responsive and helpful. Five Stars!
My husband and I stayed here with my cousin and her husband for Quilt Week. If I could give more than five stars, I would! Great communication from the host. Clean, open and airy, nicely stocked with coffee, etc. Fully stocked kitchen for cooking, plenty of towels, supplies. Goats out back are friendly! Highly recommend!
We spent 8 nights here hunting south west Ky. It was nice having a clean place to stay, with all the amenities to cook and also be so close to whatever you needed, such as groceries & restaurants. The owner lives close by and introduced himself making us feel very comfortable that we could call him for anything. Note, I’m allergic dogs and cats and had no indication or reaction that this was a pet friendly home, very clean!
The rental was easy and Tony was very nice. His property was great to us. His home/ lodge was clean and neat. We stayed for 3 days and visited friends while we were there. We were not there much as we we’re always out. He has 3 goats in the back yard that are very nice. When we come back to Kentucky we will most definitely stay there again.
We found this Lodge as a halfway point to spend Memorial Day Weekend with friends.
Prior to booking I needed to contact the property manager, Tony with a question. He quickly responded to my inquiry and then we booked our stay.
Upon arrival we were amazed by the lovely country setting and the close proximity to everything that we had planned for the visit. Tony checked to make sure that we had arrived without any issues and invited us to help ourselves to any beverages and snacks that were provided.
Tony checked in with us every day to see if we needed anything. We did reach out to Tony because we forgot our cards and asked if he had a deck one evening and again he responded immediately.
The Lodge is set up perfectly with a split floor plan allowing each couple to have their own bathroom and bedroom with the common areas in the middle.
We enjoyed having a kitchen so we could make breakfast and grill our dinners. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking.
Even the the weather did not fully cooperate with us, we made the best of the weekend playing games and visiting.
We highly recommend a stay here if you are looking in this area and we all plan to come back again, possibly next year when we can all meet again.
Thanks Tony for having a lovely place and making us all feel so welcome at your Lodge!

Upon arrival the property was clean and looked inviting and peaceful
Upon arrival I had to wash and change the bed covers because the beds were filled with pet hair and stains. The pillows had to be removed from the casing because they were not usable. We had to go at 2 am in the morning to get pillows.
We thought that when we stayed at a vacation home it would be private and peaceful. The yard is nice and we chose this property because of the back yard for our three pups. Well this dis not work because we noticed that there were 2 goats attached to the back yard. Let me tell you, that was not peaceful. Every time we let the dogs out they barked and the goats would charge at them. The back yard is not adequate for small dogs. The fence has multiple opening in it. I had to carry old logs and boards to try and confine my dogs. I could not enjoy the yard at all and most of all my dogs didn't get any play time.
The owner is very nice but every morning and afternoon when we opened the doors to let our dogs go out he was actually in the yard watering the garden and feeding the goats. No privacy at all. I am not talking about once and awhile. EVERDAY HE IS THERE. He even came over to cut his grass and do yard work.
If you need to take a shower or drink some water this is not the place for your vacation. The water has an odor of sulfur and I had to buy bottled water to give my pets. An added cost. We couldn't drink any water from this property.
Again the owner is a very nice man but I don't think he needs to rent this home out as a vacation rental. I will find a motel that takes pets in the fall when I return.
So if you don't mind a guest invading your privacy everyday and barking dogs and goats, then have a great vacation. If you want to relax and enjoy some quite time I would reconsider this property..
My family enjoyed visiting us at the lodge. The lodge was decorated for Christmas. The great room was an excellent place to play board games. The bedrooms were more than comfortable. The dogs enjoyed checking out the goats. Having coffee k-cups was much appreciated. Property close to restaurants and shopping.
We had goats in the back yard! The immaculate, fenced back yard held three wonderful goats. They were a joy to watch. The home was lovely, had everything for an enjoyable stay and more. Tony stops by in the mornings and evenings to check on the goats and was very fun to talk with. The home was close to good restaurants and just 10-12 minutes from the convention center. Beautiful, serene property- I really didn't want to leave the very comfortable porch seating.
Second VRBO Experience- Tony was an excellent host and was available if needed and was very accommodating. Location was perfect for our needs. From linens to kitchenware to bath supplies- we had everything we needed. Pantry and Frig had items we could use. Hope to be able to book again.
The property was excellent. Plenty of room and well furnished. The location is close to anything that would be needed. The host was very generous and accommodating. Everything was just as advertised. We will definitely look to stay here again on our next visit to the Paducah area and stay longer
Nice place to stay after hiking daily in the Shawnee National Forest. Close enough to town (5 min) to get take out food or needed supplies then back out to a country setting.
