About this property
Large country house sleeps up to 13 on the outskirts of Salisbury
Belmont House is a grand house, built in 1835 with many of it's original features still intact. The rooms are very large and ornate with painted ceilings, gold elaborate cornicing and substantial marble fireplaces. You can easily imagine being on the set of a period drama as this home is regularly used as a film location. The house is surrounded on 3 sides by gardens with unobstructed views of the river Avon and water meadows with Salisbury's Cathedral spire in the distance.
Belmont is a 3 story house facing the river Avon just on the outskirts of Salisbury. On the lower ground floor there is a large kitchen with a 4 oven aga and boot room leading out onto the terrace and spacious garden. There is a second kitchen with a standard oven for extra cooking and prep space as well as the laundry room.
On the middle floor there are 4 reception rooms, comprising of the formal drawing room with a stunning black marble open fireplace, 2 sitting rooms with televisions, one with a large log burner. The dining room also with a log burner and the spacious Morning Room with the elaborate white marble open fireplace. The pool room is also on this level.
Upstairs there are 5 double bedrooms, one with an additional single bed and 3 bathrooms (one ensuite)
The lower ground level has the 6th bedroom which has a kingsized bed or 2 single beds if preferred with ensuite.
Guest access
Children are very welcome, but the old-fashioned staircase is not suited to fitting a stair gate and our house is not toddler proof. There are a lot stairs so can be tricky for those who may be visually or physically challenged.
