Lovely home

We stayed here for a week to celebrate my partners birthday. The home was clean, had all we needed and the view was worth a million bucks. A couple of tips if you plan to stay here:Make arrangements to have food at your house before you arrive. There is a well stocked grocery store in Winward side, but the hike up to the house is not for anybody with mobility issues or who isn’t in excellent shape. We rented a car during the week and we were glad we did. In fact, many of the island’s taxis won’t drive down into the entryway to the house because it is so steep. The pool was lovely but it was hard to keep it clean—maybe the skimmer/filter need maintenance and the skimmer net was broken. The kitchen is manageable for quick means but not for gourmet cooking. Not a problem—-Since all of the restaurants we visited were superb. The home was comfortable and clean. Communication was returned promptly. I would recommend.

Laid back well kept property

Recently gutted and redone. It looked like the paint had just dried a month ago. Grrrrrr8 views! Getting there with bags on the edge of a mountain would have been inpossible, had it not been for Alehondro and Mark. They met us a the airport, took us and our bags immediately. Modern appliances that work. TV is a bit fritzy because it is a dish and the winds were really stout. Be prepared for lots of up and down walking to get into town (10 min going down, forever getting back). Great place, great island, great people!

Crumbling Cottage

This place would be fine for $100 a night with some buddies but certainly not for $300 a night. The owner has left this place decay to the point where the two primary doors to the house do not close. There were no screens for half the windows in the house and the screens that did remain either had holes in them or the frames were bent so severely as to not keep any bugs out of the cottage. The pool is at the point of becoming a pond as opposed to a swimming pool and there's crumbling in several spots and it very slimy. I actually had to hunt to find the pool skimmer and assemble it as it had not been used in quite some time. This was necessary as there were several dead animals in the pool. That's not to mention the dry rotted posts for the porch that had been very chinsily repaired. I would not recommend staying at this place. There were some folks staying at the cottage next to us that paid a similar rate and the cottage was immaculate.

Beautiful quiet cottage

The house, or cottage is perfectly clean and beautifully updated. The kitchen was stocked and their offer of a grocery shop before arrival is a really good option as the grocery stores close at 7pm and are closed on Sundays. The bedrooms have plenty of storage and the beds are extremely comfortable. The walk into town is pretty quick about 10 minutes, but the walk back is very steep and we usually got a taxi back up the hill at night. The pool was kept clean and the outdoor furniture is as pictured, very comfortable. We dove with Sea Saba and the diving was beautiful!

Sensational Saban experience with a premium sunset view and pool!

I cannot imagine returning to Saba without Compass Point on my menu! Walking distance to Busy Bee bakery and cafe, Windwardside shops and restos and the careful Saban hospitality when required. A gem without a doubt. Thanks to Mark Johnson for our support and kindness. Hiking haven.

We are a professional yachting couple. Michael is a Yacht Captain of over 20 years and Stacey is the Purser/ Chef. We fell in love with the island of Saba after a weekend away from St. Maarten. Stacey fell absolutely in love with Saba the first day flying into the airport, the people stargazing at night and silence and peace which follow us in a very populated world. This property is their little piece of paradise. They have dived many of the sites around the island, brought the boat they work on as well as the owner and crew to the property and use this place as somewhere they can get away from all the hype from the world. It's our little piece of paradise.
