About this property

Beautiful, country style cottage near the windmill, polder and windmill view

On a unique location, in the Green Heart of the Netherlands, on the edge of Alphen aan den Rijn, a splendid cottage was built and opened in 2014. The cottage is cozy and picturesque, decorated in country style; a place to enjoy and to relax. Situated nearby the windmill, you can see the windmill to one side and the beautiful polder landscape to the other side, where in summertime, cows and sheep graze outside. The cottage is surrounded by 3 terrasses.

The cottage is adjusted for 4 persons, of course less is also possible. The mentioned price is based on a maximum of 4 persons. An extension up to 6 persons is possible by use of one extra bedroom, or up to 8 persons by connecting the next door apartment, by way of an inside door. For more then 4 persons another price is applied. For more information about the extra bedroom or apartment, please ask your question on the 'Contact' page.

The cottage and the connected house are built in nostalgic country style, in perfect harmony with the windmill and the landscape. Lots of old materials have been used, like beams, bricks and the rooftiles of the former old cowshed.

On the groundfloor there is a cozy double bedstead (160 x 210 cm) and above of this bedstead it is possible for one or two children to sleep.This is an extra sleeping possibility, children don't have to sleep there. The space above the bed on top is limited because of the ceiling. All matresses are of good quality.

There is also a complete modern kitchen, a dining table and a cozy lounge area on the ground floor. There is also a bathroom with a shower and a seperate toilet.

On the first floor is a bedroom with two single beds. The boxsprings and mattrasses are of good quality. We have 'four season' wool duvets on all of the beds.

You are a guest of Hans and Susanne Vrolijk and their two children, the inhabitants of the windmill. Besides his Job as a technician, Hans is the miller of this windmill on a voluntary basis. Susanne Is a portaitpainter.
They would be very happy to welcome you!

Ofcourse it is possible to have a look out and inside the windmill, the miller is happy to tell you about its history and function.

A Peaceful Place To Relax
We loved the peaceful setting out in the country. It was a great place to unwind. We enjoyed the sheep, swans, and other birds. It was incredible to see a windmill up close out of our windows every day.

Natur pur
Wir waren Ende Februar bei Hans und seiner Windmühle und hatten einen ganz tollen Aufenthalt. Das Wetter hat mitgespielt und wir konnten uns die schöne kleine Farm und die Natur bei Sonnenschein anschauen. Den Morgenkaffee genossen wir beim beobachten von Schafen, Hasen, Enten, Schwänen und und und. Das Häuschen war gut ausgestattet inkl. Fußbodenheizung und Klimaanlage. Es gibt viele Aktivitäten in Alphen am Rhein und die Stadt Leiden und Den Haag (Strand) sind mit dem Auto in 30 Minuten erreichbar. Wer einen schönen naturnahen Ort sucht wird hier fündig. Wir kommen gerne wieder

Jolie maison près du moulin. Très typique et très confortable. La situation géographique est également idéale pour visiter et découvrir la région sur les bons conseils de Hans.

Niederlande Pur!
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Hans ist ein netter Gastgeber und die schnuckelige kleine Wohnung ist sehr gemütlich und ruhig. Und morgens kann man sogar die Schafe füttern ;-) Die Ferienwohnung ist optimal gelegen, um die umliegenden Städte, wie zum Beispiel Amsterdam, Den Haag oder auch Leiden (unser Geheimtipp), zu besuchen. Es war toll und wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Vaarwel :-)

Sehr idyllisch
Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen im Windmill Cottage. Der Ausblick auf den Polder mit vielen Vogelarten (u.a. Eisvogel) und anderen Tieren ist wunderschön! Die Ausstattung ist prima und wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Man kann von Woubrugge sowohl Amsterdam als auch Den Haag und die vielen anderen hübschen Orte wie Leiden, Delft etc. und auch die Küste sehr gut erreichen. Danke!

Sommerurlaub der extra Klasse
Der Aufenthalt war grandios. Das Ferienhaus liegt direkt unterhalb der Windmühle. Tolles Haus sehr ruhig. Parkplatz auf dem Gelände Küche gut ausgestattet. Alles da, was man braucht. Gastgeber sehr nett. Fahrräder können direkt vor Ort gemietet werden. Wir würden gerne nächstes Jahr wieder kommen. Es war einfach nur super.

Alles Perfekt!
Das Objekt wurde genau wie beschrieben vorgefunden. Es war alles perfekt sauber. Blumen, Eier und Stroopwaffeln gabs gleich mal als Willkommensgeschenk. Hans ist ein sehr freundlicher und stets hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Die Ferienwohnung hat eine super Lage für Wanderungen, Radtouren (Fahrräder kann man bei Hans mieten) aber auch Ausflüge mit dem Auto geeignet. Urtecht, Amsterdam, Leiden, Den Haag, Gouda, Zandvoort und Rotterdam haben wir in jeweils 30-40 min erreicht. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Bettkammer im Wohnzimmer ist unheimlich gemütlich. Die Matratzen waren ausgesprochen gut. Die Wohnung hat 3 Terrassen sodass man in jedem Fall windgeschützt draussen sitzen kann. Die Mühle ist dabei immer im Blick. Selbst im Betrieb kommt es zu keiner Lärmbelästigung. Die Ferienwohung kann ich wärmsten Herzens unbedingt weiter empfehlen.

Wann wohnt man schon direkt neben einer Windmühle, deren Flügel sich drehen? Im "Windmill cottage" von Hans Vrolijk in Alphen aan den Rhin.In einer geschmackvoll wie auch komplett ausgestatteten Wohnung mit Blick u.a. auf die imposante Mühle (in die uns Gastgeber Hans bis nach ganz oben geführt hat).

Location de charme vue sur le moulin
À mi-chemin entre Rotterdam, Gouda, Amsterdam et Volendam, et à proximité de Leiden et de la plage, nous avons choisi cette location qui semblait être un bon compris. Quelle surprise de découvrir l’incroyable vue qu’offrait cette location sur un superbe moulin, que nous avons pu visiter en compagnie du propriétaire !! Celui-ci est très agréable et serviable, il a pris le temps de discuter avec nous et de nous informer sur les activités à réaliser aux alentours. We stayed 6 nights in April. Highly recommended. Small village with a Spar and a bakery/coffee shop on the large canal just a km away. Nice to watch all sizes of boats up the canal. Owner very cordial and helpful. Well located to visit the nearby towns. Peaceful. The windmill is very very interesting.

Amazing, convenient, and relaxing
We loved our stay at the Windmill Cottage! Hans was very helpful and welcoming, the cottage was very clean, big, and had everything we needed. The location is very convenient to other parts of Holland, and it was lovely biking in the area with bikes that we could easily and cheaply rent from Hans. The sunsets were amazing, and it was special to see ducks, swans, rabbits, and other animals in this quiet and beautiful area. If we come back to Holland, we will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Stay
We came to see the tulip fields and absolutely loved this VRBO. This location was an easy 20-minute drive to Keukenhof. It was nice and quiet. There was a patio where you could relax and enjoy the views. Hans was very friendly and communicative and even arranged a last-minute tour of the windmill for us. Our kids loved the trampoline and the soccer play area. I highly recommend this location. Thank you Hans for such a wonderful stay.

Tolle Unterkunft, netter Gastgeber
Das Ferienhaus liegt wunderschön und ruhig in den Poldern, mit weiter Aussicht und ist nicht weit von Leiden entfernt. Die Unterkunft ist schön hell und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Hans ist ein super Gastgeber, der schnell auf alle Wünsche einging. Miete von Fahrrädern für die ganze Familie war bei ihm auch möglich. Einen Aufenthalt kann ich nur empfehlen.

Holland pur
Eine wunderbar gelegene Ferienwohnung, sehr ruhig, schön eingerichtet, alle Geräte für gutes Kochen vorhanden. Mit dem Fahrrad ist die nahegelegene Stadt Alphen gut zu erreichen und die idyllische Umgebung einschl. der Stadt Leiden gut zu erkunden. Die übrigen Städte (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Delft) und die Nordsee sind ebenso gut mit Auto und ÖPNV zu erreichen. Ein idealer Ort, Holland mit seiner bukolischen Landschaft und historischen und modernen Städten kennen zu lernen.

Wir hatten wunderschöne Ferien im Windmill Cottage in Alphen aan den Rijn. Hans war ein super netter Vermieter, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Wohnung war sauber und gemütlich, die Ausstattung sehr gut, es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Danke für die tolle Zeit!

Super Ferienwohnung
Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub. Die Ferienwohnung liegt perfekt und wunderschön in der Natur. Zum Meer sind es 35 Minuten mit dem Auto. Mann kann herrlich Fahrrad fahren und es gibt viele schöne Städte in unmittelbarer Nähe.
