About this property

Romantic Rolltop bath & cosy woodburning-stove - Baltinna West Lodge, Newtonmore.

"Couldn't have asked for more, and ohhhh, that bath!!"

The Baltinnas (each sleeping 2) are a pair of adjoining but completely separate lodge style properties. Baltinna West oozes warmth and character, with a cosy wood-burning stove in the living room and sheepskin rugs on oak floors.

With the Monadhliath mountains behind the village as a backdrop, and an enclosed partially decked front garden where red squirrels are regular visitors, this is a truly tranquil retreat for two.

Mature beech and lime trees surround the garden. Downstairs is open plan, with a well-equipped, modern fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, full oven, microwave, hob and fride-freezer. In the living/dining area you can put your feet up whilst relaxing with a dram on the chesterfield settee facing the wood burner. Everything you need has been thought of - TV with Freesat, portable JBL bluetooth speakers, DVD player and library, excellent wifi, and a selection of local guide books.

Upstairs there is a romantic roll-top bath in the master bedroom to soak those muscles after walking the local Wildcat trail or bagging a nearby munro or two! Baltinna West has a kingsize bed with individual flexible reading lights and USB sockets. There's also a separate shower room with shower, wc and wash hand basin upstairs (and an additional separate wc downstairs). The location is fabulous; the village shops and great pubs serving very good food within just two minutes walk. There are excellent restaurants and cafes in the village too. Guests love both Baltinna West and Baltinna East and they have exceedingly high feedback ratings. Parking on site.

Baltinna West is fantastic value for couples and solo travellers who don't want or need to book a multiple bedroom, larger and pricier holiday home only to use a small part of it.

This cosy lodge style property is 4 star Visit Scotland quality assurance rated. Baltinna West is part of a small and exclusive portfolio in Newtonmore that were recent proud winners of the prestigious Highlands & Islands Best Self Catered Accommodation Award.
Electric central heating throught and logs provided for the stove.

1 well-behaved dog welcome - please just let us know when booking if you are bringing your dog. Fabulous dog-walking straight from the door including the 10km orbital Wildcat Trail.

Newtonmore has a well-stocked Co-op supermarket (open daily 7am til 10pm). There is also a post office, pharmacy, barbers, Tweed shop, gift shop, two or three pubs or hotel bars that serve good food, 2 or 3 lovely cafes, an all-day Grill, a petrol station (with convenience store) a takeaway and a restaurant. 3 cashpoints (village hall, co-op and petrol station).

Scottish Highlands Retreat

Lovely modern bungalow in an ideal location in central Scotland. Well-appointed with all the amenities one could ask for. Skylights and bathtub are a major plus. Owners are very informative and easily accessible. Close to Cairn Gorms wilderness area and easy driving to the four corners of the country. Highly recommend for solo or a couples getaway.

Beautiful, peaceful retreat

Absolutely lovely single-bed home in the Scottish Highlands. Very easy to find and conveniently located within short walking distance of the town's petrol station and their train station. The roil-top bath is fantastic, and everything stocked was to a high standard. Brilliant hosts - texted through a few local events that were of interests and were available easily if I needed them, but the place was perfect, so I didn't. Really eco-friendly stay as well. Highly recommended for a solo trip or a romantic bolthole!
