Purple Thistle

Had a very enjoyable week at purple thistle lodge. It was warm and comfortable and within easy reach of St Andrews and other small pretty coastal towns . Loved the hot tub on deck and the site was very quiet and peaceful. Would recommend this accommodation for anyone wanting to explore the east Neuk of Scotland.

Short mid week Easter break

The resort itself is lovely and only a 5 min drive from St Andrews. It is very quiet and peaceful. The hot tub faces onto the fields and it’s a lovely view. The caravan/lodge itself was less impressive. The showers didn’t work for a day and a half however when we told the staff they were very proactive and fixed them quickly. On quick glance the caravan appears clean however the carpets in the living area and the main bedroom in particular were dirty and had a strong odour. There was quite a powerful smell of dirty feet. The hoover did not work. The caravan is pet friendly and there has obviously been a black dog staying and all of the hair was on the carpet, surface and matted. The cleanliness really let it down. For almost a thousand pounds for 4 nights- I would not recommend staying at this caravan.

Beautiful lodge with stunning views

We stayed in Purple Thistle Lodge 32 and the location was great. The hot tub looked out towards the fields and was quite private. Inside, the lodge was immaculate. The master bedroom was a decent size, with a double bed and an ensuite. It also had a huge walk-in cupboard. The other two bedrooms were small but absolutely fine for our stay. Each room also had good storage space. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The playpark was great for the kids. The location was great and it didnt take long to drive into the centre of St Andrews. Morrisons and Aldi are also only a 5 minute drive from the resort. We will definitely return and I would highly recommend.

Birthday and Christmas Stay 2022

We had a brilliant stay celebrating a 50th birthday which just happens to be at Christmas! The lodge was lovely and the hot tub was a bonus. It made the stay extra special too. Having worked in a hospitality environment myself I know how hard it is to please at this time of year and this was no exception. There was always someone at the end of the phone should you need them. Also received a lovely wee welcome gift for my birthday which was gratefully received. Thanks again for a lovely stay and hope to be back with you again soon.
