Be sure to bring your walking boots, there are excellent trails and paths offering excellent walking direct from the door. Situated on Buttercross Square where the 18th Century Lady of Justice stands proud, this is a great place to sit back and relax, having shops and a wonderful café to enjoy refreshments, delicious breads, cakes and pastries. From here you can truly explore both the Norfolk Broads National Park and the Suffolk coast, just 20 minute drive to Southwold. The area is packed with activities including day boat trips, walking and the seaside. The vibrant city of Norwich is within 30 minutes by car.
The market town of Beccles has Lido open air heated swimming pool, popular with many local swimmers, and the River Waveney, so be sure to bring your binoculars as it’s a great place to view the abundance of wildlife and offers great fishing opportunities. Lowestoft is the most easterly point in the UK. Watch the weekly speed boat racing (in season) on Oulton Broad. Suffolk heritage coastline; famous Southwold for pier, lighthouse, beach and fresh fish seafood eateries and Walberswick RSPB reserve.
