Alles gut. Danke.

Such a lovely place to stay!!!!

A very clean, modern, comfy and cosy little barn conversion with everything you need plus a very comfortable bed. We enjoyed our stay very much and felt at home right away. Extremely nice and dogfriendly owners - Nico saved our holiday by having us very spontaneously. We had booked a different place to stay in St. Ives but because of mould and heating problems there we could not stay another night or our holiday would have turned into a nightmare. So I contacted Nico in the morning and a couple hours later Gwennel barn was ready for us! And she even decorated it very sweet for christmas. We can highly recommend Gwennel Barn. The surrounding area is also very nice, close to the costal path and a very good old Pub is in short (!) walking distance! We just wish we had booked it right from the start. Definitely a place to return. We fell in love!

Gwennel Barn is very well presented and has everything you need for an enjoyable holiday

The sun was shining and the property was exactly what we were expecting from the website. Shortly after arrival Nico popped in to check that we were happy and later brought some locally made artisan bread. The location is so peaceful and with the coastal path only a few hundred yards away it is ideal for exploring the local coastline on foot. Nearby Minack Theatre was an absolute bonus! The local pub is very friendly and serves good food. Ale not bad either! Fortunately the weather was kind and we enjoyed a very relaxing holiday in a fantastic place.

Thoughtfully arranged accomadation

Quality equals comfort. We enjoyed our stay. few niggles as the owner forgot to turn on the hot water so we had to wait a bit for that and Likewise the freezer was off but we didn't realise. so we had to throw food out. But I guess it's our job to check things are working on arrival.

Our beautiful Cornish getaway

Beautifully appointed luxurious holiday accommodation. Ideally situated, within easy walking distance for the stunning South Cornwall coast, with its beautiful beaches, pub shop/cafe, and the Minack Theatre. The secure south facing garden is lovely, enjoying the sun all day long. We have stayed at numerous places in Cornwall, but this is a little piece of heaven. Over the last two years we have stayed here four times, and have booked again for this year. Derek and Pat and Rosie the jack Russell

Look no further than Gwennel Barn !

This cottage is fantastic, quiet, clean and well-equipped. We found everything we needed and sometimes even more. Landscapes are wonderful. Moreover, we went in there twice. We would definitely recommend this cottage most highly.

Gorgeous base to explore beautiful Cornwall

We regularly stay in Treen, we camp in the summer and the barn was our precious find for our winter stays. Considering the barn was derelict only a couple of years ago, it has undergone a remarkable transformation to become a lovely, clean, welcoming, classy holiday let. It has been done to the highest spec. Nico, the owner, is very friendly and is on hand to assist or give you any information you want. Last year I arrived for my birthday stay and her daughter had baked me a birthday cake, what a lovely touch. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this gorgeous barn as a place to stay to explore such a beautiful part of Cornwall. I could go on about the area all day, it is amazing, access to beautiful unspoilt beaches as well as the south west coast path. Definitely dont miss visiting Pednvounder beach, just below Treen, there is a climb down to the beach at the bottom, but it is definitely achievable, it must be the most beautiful beach in the world. The Minack Theatre is close and if you are feeling brave you can walk there, and come back in the dark. Even if there are no performances you fancy, go as a day visitor, its an amazing place. The walk from Treen to Lands End is gorgeous, we carry on walking to Sennon, and then cut back across land through the Penberth Valley. Ideally for us the barn also accepts dogs, we are very careful while we are there to confine them to their bed, but when you arrive there is no trace that other dogs have been there before you. It is spotless. Highly recommended Just make sure you don't book February half term! That is our week!!!

Perfect in every way

We recently spent a very relaxing and enjoyable week at Gwennel Barn, our fourth visit. Last time we stayed we got married so it's always a treat to revisit and we never want to leave! The Cottage is absolutely lovely with everything you could possibly need, modern fully equipped kitchen, brilliant shower, comfy bed and the underfloor heating makes it very cosy. The location is just stunning. You can be on the coast path in minutes our dogs, Alan and Douglas, loved our early morning walks to Porthcurno beach with the dramatic Minack theatre rising out of the cliffs above. Gwennel is a real treat to come back to after a refreshing day of walking in the amazing landscapes around Treen. It's so quiet at night too. Nico is always very helpful and friendly and we always start planning our next trip down immediately on our return. Thank you Nico for another perfect holiday!

Cornwall- Englands Riviera

Treen and Gwennel Barn - Cornwall at its best!

We want to thank Nico and her husband Peter for a wonderfull week at Gwennel Barn and for their warm welcome! The Lodge has a lot of lovingly designed details with nautical theme. It is furnished exceptionally tastefull and luxurious, we felt very comfortable. Everything is extremely well looked after and very clean. The bathroom is a wellness oasis with beautifull tiling, there is a shower and even a bath tub to relax when you return from an exhausting hiking tour along the coast path. The equipment is perfect - there is everything from binoculars over torch to steam iron (for those who are adicted to houswork...) and lots of reading and information stuff like broschures and hiking maps - even the latest tidal calender isn´t missing. Treen is a uniqe place, we loved its rural character, its pub, the Logan Rock Inn, which is just a minute walk away - maybe it may take 3 minutes back ;O) There is a small café and you can buy fresh milk and eggs from the local farmer. We did a lot of hiking and geocaching and enjoyed the cosiness of the barn in the evening. There are so many things to do and sights to visit, time was too short to discover everything. So we definitely will come back - be sure! Andrea & Reinhold from Germany

Fabulous holiday cottage in every way

My husband and I had a wonderful week's holiday at Gwennel Barn in October, accompanied by our spaniel Billie. The cottage is small but perfect in every way. Really cosy, with an excellent kitchen and bathroom. Lovely bedroom and such a comfy bed. With the peace and quiet in Treen, the coastal walks and the excellent pub nearby, we really couldn't have asked for more. Nico is really welcoming and we had everything we needed. Billie says thanks for a fab holiday.

First time something has ~ ticked all our boxes.

Our impressions of the property, location, and its charming owners were that good that we had hoped to keep it (selfishly) to ourselves. We would not hesitate in recommending the cottage and local to friends or relatives. Unspoilt country side and local beach is probably the best one would find anywhere in Europe (bit of a scramble to get down to it but manageable) walks are great along the coastal path which is all National Trust. Local pub does a good pint and the food is good (200 yards away), cows are milked and bread is baked across the road ~ Penzance is a short drive away if you want to shop, eat out or whatever. I fact you will find that most of Cornwall is easy to get to from Treen. We left Cornwall feeling that we were leaving new found friends.

Zauberhaftes Cottage in atemberaubender Lage !
