Host & Stay | Fox's Hideout
Summary:
Fox’s Hideout is great for getaways with family and friends in Whitby. With views of the famous Whitby Abbey, as well as the North Sea, you'll be able to watch the sunset on the horizon, whilst you’ll also be just a short walk away from the town centre where you’ll find independent shops and excellent restaurants. Sleeping up to four guests (five with an additional sofa bed), this second floor apartment is ideal for a coastal retreat.
The Space:
Fox’s Hideout has a welcoming living room with exceptional sea views, the perfect place to relax with your loved ones. There are two large comfortable sofas, a flat screen TV and coffee tables. Enjoy your morning cuppa or get lost in a good book in this peaceful space.
Fully equipped for self-catering stays, the kitchen diner has everything you could need to prepare meals. This bright and open space is located just off from the living room so it’s the social hub of the apartment where you can enjoy quality time together, whilst appreciating the breathtaking sea views.
When staying at Fox’s Hideout, you’ll find two bedrooms. The master bedrooms boasts a comfy queen bed, plus views of Whitby Abbey and St Hilda's Church, while the second bedroom is home to a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and single on the top. Small pops of colour are also added to the otherwise neutral spaces. The spacious master bedroom is also home to an ensuite bathroom with a shower.
A single sofa bed can be made up in the living room or the master bedroom upon request, increasing the occupancy to five.
The family bathroom is modern in style and has a corner bathtub with a handheld shower, along with a WC and wash basin.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full apartment. The keys to the apartment are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
A parking permit is provided, allowing for free parking in a nearby car park. Please note that this operates on a first come, first served basis.
Please note that dogs are not permitted to stay at Fox’s Hideout.
The Neighborhood:
Set on Whitby’s West Cliff, Fox’s Hideout is just a short 10-minute walk into the centre of town. Head to Pier Road and you’ll find cosy pubs, fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants. Continue along the lively road until you reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts. At the other end of Pier Road, you’ll notice the swing bridge which sits over the River Esk.
Over the bridge, you’ll find yourself on the East bank which is full of narrow medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and markets selling local produce. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the mythical ruins of Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around:
Whitby train station is just a short walk away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
