In the Heart of the action
The apartment was easy to check into and close to the port, which was nice, since we were leaving Cagliari on the ferry to Sicily, as well as the train to the airport. It took us a bit of time to figure out the AC, and there were record highs in Cagliari the week we visited, so as spoiled Americans, we would have preferred it cooler. Because you couldn't leave the AC on when you left, as you had to turn off the power to the apartment, it was definitely too hot to sleep in the loft. We used the soft bed instead. The kitchen lighter was out to light the stove (gas) so we had to pop down to the tobacco shop to buy one. The kitchen didn't have a working coffee maker (the electric one was broken) other than the espresso pot, which I couldn't figure out. The kitchen has minimal appointments-- not even salt or pepper, so plan on buying everything you need to cook. That wasn't a huge problem though, given it was too hot to bother cooking, especially with all the amazing restaurants around! There are so many good places to eat and gelato places nearby, you don't need to cook. This apartment is truly in the heart of everything you'd want to do. We took an underground Cagliari tour while there and took this and it really helped beat the heat. We would definitely stay here again! One thing, the key to the outside door of the building stuck and needs to be replaced, it would only work about 50% of the time.
