Vila Vida beautiful location as home base for families in the Algarve

We had a fantastic stay for a week at Vila Vida. Six adults and two infants had plenty of space. We were provided with infant cots and high chairs and plenty of towels and linens. Well stocked for a short stay but for longer stays will need to re-stock on essentials like toilet paper and soap. Jean-Paul is a fantastic host and took good care of us. Ferragudo is the perfect hub for a home base for families in the Algarve. Charming and beautiful. The most outstanding part of this property is the view. The pictures do not do it justice and we enjoyed it at every opportunity of our stay. Thanks you for having us.

A lovely home from home

We’ve just returned from a week at Vila Vida - and would absolutely recommend. Jean Paul was a great host, nothing was too much trouble, and his team were especially helpful ensuring we had a travel cot and gates on the stairs for our baby. The home itself is situated very close to Ferragudo square, and has beautiful views over the sea. It’s very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a stay. The pool area is nice, though the pool itself a little cold in September - we still managed to swim most days. The 2 living areas were well used, along with the kitchen areas too. The rooftop provides the most beautiful 360 views, and has an outdoor kitchen we used a few times. We will definitely be back, and had a wonderful stay!

Great Little Property in Ferragudo

Great location away from bustling Portimao, very comfortable with lots of space, great rooftop terrace. Difficult to beat for the price. Some mattresses and bed linen should however be replaced and there should be more lights on the terrace. Would recommend

Great villa

This is a lovely villa,great location,about 10 minutes walk to all the restaurants in the main square ,15minute walk to beach,ferragudo is wonderful place ,Lidl is about 10 minute walk and easy to order Uber back if you have shopping and are not planning on using car,there is small mini market across the road in vitors village for essentials,villa is spacious and the upstairs bedroom in particular has stunning view along with roof terrace,villa has pretty much every thing you need including inflatables for the kids ,could use a little tlc in places and the ground floor bedroom is not ideal with washing machine in next room seems like the room could use a little ventilation as there was damp smell but all in all great villa ,location and pool

Fantastic Stay at Vila Vida!

We travelled as 2 families, including 4 teenagers. We all really enjoyed our 3 week stay at Vila Vida and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place in Ferragudo. The villa provides ample space for 8, was very clean and included everything we needed during our stay. Communication from Jean Paul was excellent and a couple of minor problems we encountered were dealt with immediately. We will definitely return to Ferragudo as we loved the area and wouldn't hesitate to stay at Vila Vida again.

A Relaxed Stay

The property is exactly as advertised. Fantastic views, convenient location, well laid out and well equipped villa. We had everything we could have wanted to cater for a family with an infant. The host was very helpful. Will be staying again.

Great location with even greater views

3 adult couples stayed 3 weeks. The location was perfect as we had not known about this lovely village beforehand. The restaurants are exceptional in and around the village. Proximity to all Algarve highlights are no more than 1-1.5 hrs away. On the weekend, we sat on the balcony and listened to the great music coming from the village square. Views from the villa are spectacular; sunsets are breathtaking. The main living area accommodated our group of 6 very well. Satellite Smart TV in LR with Netflix access. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and dishes;second smaller kitchen on the first level and comfortable living area as well. There is a bbq on the top level which was very clean. We rotated bedrooms each week so each couple had an opportunity to occupy in the master suite on 4th level and enjoy the water views and small balcony, and large ensuite bathroom. Second 4th floor bedroom/ensuite provided access to the rooftop living area; third bedroom on the lowest level shared bathroom with a 4th bedroom. Lots of closet space in bedrooms. There was a washing machine/driver and a the drying rack for outdoor drying. There is plenty of parking. Grocery stores were close by (Lidl about 3 mins. and Apolonia about 10-15 min) The owner was always accessible through Whatsapp if we had any questions. He was a pleasure to deal with. We had a wonderful 3 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the unit and its amenities. Highly recommend Vila Vida!

Perfect location

Ferragudo itself is a gem, and this house makes the most of it. Conveniently located. We loved the views and the different balconies and terraces at the house, allowing different vistas and choice of sun or shade. Excellent communication with the owner.

Ganz nett mit toller Lage.

Zuerst muss ich sagen dass die Kommunikation mit Jean-Paul sehr gut war, er ist ein sehr freundlicher und höflicher Gastgeber. Das Haus ist auf den ersten Blick sehr schön, die Lage ist super toll. Auf den zweiten Blick muss man einige Abstriche machen. In dem Haus ist alles da was man braucht, Besteck, Geschirr, Gläser etc. Auf den zweiten Blick merkt man dann dass nicht alles Gold ist was glänzt. Das komplette Besteck und das Geschirr war total verschmiert, wir mussten erst mal alles reinigen. Die Geschirrspülmaschine hatte nicht richtig gereinigt weil die Spülarme total mit Schmutz verstopft waren, ich musste die erst einmal reinigen. Unter den Oberschränken in der Küche sind überall Lampen angebracht, aber keine hatte funktioniert. Nach einer Weile hatte ich heraus gefunden dass alles mit einer Funksteckdose verbunden ist, also erst mal die richtige Fernbedienung suchen, was bei der großen Anzahl von Fernbedienungen nicht einfach war. Bei der Dunstabzugshaube musste ich die Glühlampen wechseln, die waren kaputt. An den Aussentreppen zum Pool und zur Dachterrasse hat keine Beleuchtung funktioniert. Im Hauptschlafzimmer war Schimmel an den Wänden neben dem Fenster und im Bad, sowie an der Badewanne. Die Tür vom Hauptschlafzimmer hat geklemmt sodass man diese nur mit großer Kraft öffnen und schließen konnte. Wir hatten auch das Apartement unten dazu gebucht, dort hatte es die ersten Tage sehr muffig gerochen, erst nach mehrtägigem lüften war es angenehm dort. Der Fernseher im Apartement funktioniert nicht. Auf der Dachterrasse ist ein großer eingebauter Grill und Jean-Paul bittet darum dass man erst Alufolie auf den Grill legt bevor man sein Fleisch oder Fisch darauf legt. Ich dachte erst damit der Grill nicht schmutzig wird, aber als ich den Grill geöffnet hatte wusste ich warum. Der Grill war so schmutzig dass ich da auch keine Lebensmittel drauf legen würde. Die ganze Dachterrasse sieht inzwischen auch sehr ungepflegt aus, nicht so wie auf den Bildern. Die Nachbarn auf der rechten Seite sind auch nicht gerade Nachbarn die man sich wünscht. Ich weiß nicht warum die beiden immer nackt auf der Dachterrasse herum laufen mussten. Wir alle fanden das nicht sehr schön. Auf der Terrasse im Nachbarhaus wurde täglich Zigarre geraucht und der Rauch ist immer zu uns herüber gezogen. Auch nicht so schön. Wir haben uns den Urlaub trotzdem nicht vermiesen lassen. Übrigens ist das Haus nicht wie angegeben rollstuhlgerecht!
