The town's historic market hall dates to the 17th century, and a contemporary recreation facility with a pool is close by. In the Peak District National Park, Bakewell is conveniently located for visiting this stunning area. Within reasonable driving distance are Britain's top theme park, Alton Towers, as well as the rocky Dark Peak and the softer limestone White Peak.
