About this property

Tan y Celyn - Cosy couples cottage in a quaint corner of North Wales

Tan y Celyn is nicely presented bungalow in the popular Snowdonia village of Rowen. With off road parking and sleeping 3 in 2 bedrooms, it has a garden patio overlooking the countryside.

The bungalow has a kingsize bedroom and single bedroom, shower room, modern kitchen and lounge-diner. The property has been modernised but you can still see the original stone walls. The village pub is a short distance away. There are walks in the local countryside and you can easily travel to the local towns of Conwy and Llandudno or venture further into the national park.

Rowen is known as one of the most beautiful villages in the Conwy Valley and a popular starting point for walks on the hills and mountains of the area, Rowen is a village on the western slopes of the Conwy valley in the parish of Caerhun and the former County of Caernarfonshire. It lies off the B5106 road, between Tal y Bont and the Groes Inn. Buildings of Gwynedd 2009 refers to the River Roe probably following the Roman route from Caerhun to Abergwyngregyn. Rowen has won tidiest village awards several times.

There are good road links to and from Rowen and across North Wales, as well as seasonal public transport routes for tourists, and good local taxi firms. The Llew Jones No. 19 bus serves Rowen and Pontwgan with direct services to Conwy and Llanrwst.

A rural retreat.

The property is lovely and in a pleasant spot although right at the road side( very narrow and not much traffic ) so still quiet. We had some trouble locating the key which is beside the back, not front door which is quite hidden. Inside it is well appointed, cosy and clean. Great bathroom and kitchen and the lounge was adequate for two,of us. Some problems putting the tv on But we managed it o the third night. But al tv’s seem endlessly complicated these days. Progress seems to make things more difficult. My only real problem was the larger bedroom where the bed took almost all the space. There was no room for a bedside table for my book, glasses, hearing aid charger or watch.. Difficult for anyone I should think but at 89 I found it tricky to have to get up for everything I needed. But the bed was comfortable! I. Cannot imagine a couple in that room with nowhere to put clothes or luggage. I think it would be better to just have a single bed and let it to singles.
