Town: Dalbeattie, a picturesque Scottish country town, is located in the southwest of the country. Located in a wooded valley on the banks of the River Urr, the town serves as a gateway to the stunning scenery of the Solway Coast, including its miles of sandy beaches and quaint fishing villages. Stone from the Dalbeattie granite quarry was shipped all over the world, including to the construction of the Eddystone Lighthouse and the Thames Embankment. Forest walks in Glentrool, where you can retrace Richard Hannay's steps in The Thirty-Nine Steps, and the nearby world-famous 7stanes mountain biking complex have made it a popular destination for those seeking a taste of the great outdoors. Gorgeous vistas of the Solway Firth, Lake District, and Galloway Hills can be seen from Dalbeattie and the surrounding area. A fantastic place that caters to everyone's needs.

Great place to stay

Ideally located to explore the area. Dalbeattie Forest right behind property which is great for dog walking or mountain biking. Beaches close by and worth a visit. Weather was mixed but the accommodation was very comfortable and well equipped. Even though the wind and rain was heavy at times, you would t notice it inside. Definitely worth staying and will stay again. Nice touches on arrival. Table set, cake, milk and urn bru!
