Absolutely perfect place to stay

This property is incredibly cute, comfortable and clean, with the added bonus of a great location, tons of sunshine, pretty views and all the things you need to enjoy yourself. I came to Creede to run a race and brought my husband and adult pacers. The living room/kitchen area is nice and open and gave us plenty of space to spread out, cook and plan the race. The bedrooms have adorable dormer windows and are quite comfortable. The bathroom was functional, with plenty of towel racks and counter space. The kitchen has everything you need plus a fun view of Main Street. We loved the little decorative touches. And you could walk to all the restaurants, shops, grocery stores and museums in town. Couldn't ask for more in a vacation place. I highly recommend staying here.

Life at 8,852 Feet!

We just completed a delightful four night stay at Dragonfly Flats. We rented the Caddis Cove flat and it was everything we hoped it would be. A beautiful home away from home right in the heart of Creede, CO. We loved looking out from our kitchen windows at all the happenings on Main Street as we enjoyed breakfast from the local Farmers Market that we stopped at on our way back from our walk each morning. We could hike in the hills around town or head up the Bachelor Loop. Each evening we walked to the theaters for the most amazing live theater from the Creede Repertory Theater! (And Dragonfly Flats is a major sponsor of the theater each year! Kudos for their support of the arts!) We come to Creede each summer from Boston and will definitely stay here again!

Very nice property

The unit was very nice and very clean. Perfect location! Walking distance to all shopping and restaurants. Very comfortable beds. LOVED sitting in the rocking chairs on the beautiful very large front porch! My only complaints were that the property description and photos did not mention or show that the unit was on the second level, had no A/C and no dedicated parking. I should have inquired prior to booking but did not. We preferred bottom level because we are 2 older ladies unaccustomed to the altitude with luggage that required multiple trips to bring everything in. A/C was not needed during our visit in August so may never really be needed. Only on-street parking available, but there were lots of very close spots. (This could possibly be an issue if visiting weekends or peak season.) We visited on 2 weekdays. Overall truly enjoyed staying in your beautiful property in such a beautiful place. Thank you!

I would stay here again

Really a great place with a perfect location. It was fun to be on the main drag within walking distance of the restaurants and shops. The unit was really nice and I felt it was clean which made us all feel very comfortable in the COVID world. Just a couple of minor issues. The cleaners got a little carried away with the "Carpet Fresh" we had to open some windows and air it out a little when we got there and the unit lacked a few incidentals like dishwasher soap. But they also had tooth brushes, shampoos and body wash. Plenty of clean towels and linens some games and plenty of coffee products. I Think the listing said it sleeps 7. While that is probably accurate because it has an inflatable mattress, 5 would be more comfortable if it is a family or maybe more like 2 couples. With that said, I would highly recommend this place. We loved it and would definitely go back. It really was nice.

Fun 4 Day Weekend

Caddis Cove was perfect for my wife and I. Nice quiet Victorian property on Main Street, well furnished, within walking distance to everything in town. Great porch with rocking chairs. The Aspen trees were beautiful, Bachelor's Loop had great views with a number of old mining sites to visit. Enjoyed both North and South Clear Creek Falls, as well as Rex Falls just across the road towards Brown Lakes State Wildlife Area. Got to see the tail end of the Old Car show downtown Saturday. Pretty drive on the Silver Thread Scenic Byway to Lake City and Lake San Cristobal. Drove the easy half of the Alpine Loop. Saw five moose a little before Sherman where we stopped and hiked Cataract Gulch and then headed back to Creede. Dinner at The Antlers Riverside (the patio outside along the Rio Grande River) was nice. Hope to come back and visit again soon!

Conveniently located. Flat had everything needed. Bed was comfortable. No complaints except the info provided was somewhat misleading about the fact the flat was upstairs and accessible by outside wooden stairway. If you are elderly or health issues note this fact.

Perfect location!

Location was perfect! Walking distance to everything in town, Bachelor Loop was amazing, scenery spectacular. Bedrooms were exactly as described, stocked kitchen, bathroom amenities & comfy couches. The carpet was stained pretty bad. I do understand it is wear/tear of rental property. Cleaning it would probably take care of stains. Hope to see you again Creede!

Caddis Cove in Creede

Our unit was very comfortable and seemed to be recently updated; very cute décor. Great location in town on the main street and very walkable to grocery store, shops, restaurants and the theatre - everything was located with a few blocks. There was a small problem with checking in (the key was not in the lock-box as stated in the instructions) but the owner was on-site and quickly gave us her key to the unit. The basics are there in the kitchen for cooking (spices, foil, coffee maker, coffee & filters, toaster, a few pans, mixing bowls, measuring cups and eating utensils) but there were very few kitchen accessories (extra hot pads, multiple cooking utensils, etc.) so if you are planning to cook several meals there be aware that you may need to bring your own or just rely on making simple meals. There are also very few dishes - basically enough for four people. Otherwise this is a great unit and I would definitely stay there again.

Dragonfly Flats is our home away from home. We have been coming to Creede for over 30 years to escape the Texas climate and appreciate some of God’s wonderful scenery. This is our Colorado mountain getaway and our family feels extremely blessed to be able to have transformed this Victorian building into a comfortable and fun retreat in the heart of Creede.

Why they chose this property

We bought this property because it was the nicest and newest building on Main Street. We hope you enjoy the surroundings in and outside of Dragonfly as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

You'll never be bored in Creede. It's the ultimate family or couples vacation spot. The little town is so quaint and the people are very friendly. Creede is located in Mineral County and is 97% national forest, so the views and wildlife are breathtaking. Enjoy the only firehouse located in a mine. This is a very unique mining museum with lots of interesting history. There is also Bingo in the mineshaft. How many people can you ever say they did that? LOL. There are so many other attractions such as Batchelor Loop. This is a historic 17-mile tour (on your own), through the historic mining district above Creede. The tour takes you across mine locations from the 1890s and abandoned ghost towns that once rivaled Creede in size. The backroads to this loop are walking/biking distance from Dragonfly Flats. There are also lots of great hiking, biking, horseback riding and ATV trails to explore the beautiful mountains. There are also many other attractions in Creede such incredible fly fishing along the Rio Grande, snow sledding, ice skating on the frozen pond (seasonal), Cabin Fever Days, Rock and Mineral Show, Taste of Creede, North Creek Falls, fine art galleries, awesome boutiques, annual hot air balloon festival, great restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a grocery store walking distance.
