Seabirds House - Lovely 2 bedroom Flat with Best Possible Sea Views In St Ives
Seabirds House is a large Edwardian sea-captain's house with a very commanding position overlooking St Ives and the sea in all directions. The views are superb - even window cleaners are amazed by them! It’s almost unique in St Ives to be able to see both the crashing waves on the Porthmeor surf beach, and the sheltered harbour beach – and you can see right around St Ives Bay and down the north Cornwall coast too. Godrevy Terrace is quiet with very little passing traffic - you'll only hear the wind, the seagulls and the sea itself. Yet it's 2 or 3 minutes down the hill to the lively heart of this bustling little holiday town, and equally quick to get to the 3 main beaches. It takes a little longer to walk back up the very steep hill - so Seabirds is not really suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Flat 4 is at the top of the house with a stunning view. It is comfortable and convenient with everything you need for a holiday including a washer dryer. But we don't claim to provide "luxury" accommodation and we don't have dishwashers or very posh kitchens so our prices are reasonable for comfortable holiday accommodation that undoubtedly has the very best views in St Ives. Flat 4 has a parking space suitable for a normal family car, and an electric car charging point. We also have Flat 2 Seabirds House, a one bedroom flat with a similarly amazing view, which is on a separate listing - 8154012. And a small separate one bed flat 100 yards away also with a lovely sea view across gardens - our Barnoon Flat - listing 8151990.

What a wonderful quiet location and views to die for! We found the beds too soft and couldn’t get the shower very warm. There was visible mould and peeling paint on the walls that needs addressing and the microwave is rusty inside. The sofas were super comfy, the washer drier an added bonus and the kitchen had everything we needed and more.
My family loved our stay in flat 4 of the Seabirds house. The view from the living room and small terrace is absolutely tops. You can see the sea to the left and the harbor to the right. The light changes constantly and each moment seems more beautiful than the last. I could have sat on the patio all weekend and been completely happy. The bedrooms are comfortable and a good size. Mattresses, pillows, and comforters are perfect and there are spare blankets in case of cold weather. The kitchen is great with everything you need except no coffee maker or dishwasher. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we’re lucky enough to do so and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Outstanding position, everything you could ask for in a holiday apartment.
Great apartment although small damp patches in the lounge and sky light in bathroom a little mucky. Provides homely accommodation for a family of 4 to relax with an outstanding view. Excellent facilities if you wish to prepare your own meals or a great selection of restaurants to eat out; Blas Burger is unique!
Apartment is wonderfully warm which was lovely in chilly March 😊.
Thoroughly recommend. Allocated car parking spaces a little small so difficult with 2 large cars however Barnoon Car Park very close and easy to use which is a bonus in St Ives.
This property has the best view in St Ives. It was perfect for us, a great location within moments of the beaches and harbour. It was easy to find and, although access was up a hill, the view at the top was utterly worth is.
Found at the last minute due to planned accomodation being cancelled at short notice. Glad we did as its a lovely flat on the 3rd floor with great facilities and amazing views from the balcony. Host was great and we got all the info etc we needed. Car parking space is tight but there's a car park behind the building if you prefer. I managed to get my Renault Laguna in fine with a bit of manouevring. Only a couple of minutes into town/onto beach which was fantastic. Would definately recommend and would love to stay here again.
Amazing town location spot on as long as u can climb short steep lane /stairs to property lovely apartment lots lovely restaurants five min walk away loved it
Looking through the various properties online the main thing that stood out for me about Seabirds House (Flat 4) was that it came with a parking space. Such a bonus in St Ives.
The property is spacious and very comfortable.
And the view...you couldn’t ask for better!
The first thing I did every morning was open the doors onto the balcony and just watched out over the town and out across to Godrevy Lighthouse.
We will definitely be back!

The only thing wrong, our visit was too short
Stunning view, very comfortable and homey place. We couldn't have wanted for a thing, it was all there. St. Ives requires you to be fit to get around, be aware of that. It has very steep hills and steps. Since we didn't have a car we were walking and climbing all the time. We walked all over St. Ives and did some hiking too, loved every minute except when we first got into town we were a little taken aback by the cars in the tiny winding hilly streets inches from where we were walking but we got used to it. Beautiful beaches, really wonderful food (and we're vegan, lots of choices!) interesting shops and museums. Couldn't get enough of looking at the cute cottages too. We loved the flat and all the conveniences and instructions on how to make everything work. I hope we can come again and stay longer to explore more of beautiful Cornwall.

fantastic sea views
Very clean, warm and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the location was brilliant for all the shops and restaurants. The views from the flat were fabulous and we never tired of looking at it. My husband is an artist and it really inspired him. The only disappointing part was The Tate gallery. Not what we expected at al. Would definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends.

Best In St Ives
We were in the top flat from where the views are outstanding. The property is well furnished and all facilities are high quality from the T V and lounge furniture to the well equipped kitchen. All of the facilities of St Ives are just a few minutes walking distance away. We have been renting properties in St Ives for more than 40 years and this is one of the best situated and best equipped that we have found.

Wonderful views, perfect for families and parking
We had a fabulous week in Flat 4. Our girls (16 and 5) loved their bedroom. The views are amazing and we never tired of sitting in the living room and watching the ever changing lighting over the sea and beaches. It was an added bonus to have a parking space. Will definitely return, The owner was very friendly and helpful too.

Stayed here for a week at easter. Booking process very easy. Flat as advertised - very well equipped with washer dryer which was handy with the children. Beds very comfortable, warm and clean. Outstanding views of all beaches and the island. Lovely. Lots of lovely places to eat - Seafood cafe, Peppers, Cornish Deli. Great art galleries. Highly recommended.

Perfect
We've stayed in flat 2 before, so when deciding to come to St Ives for New Years, seabirds house was an instant decision, and flat 4 didn't disappoint! With the best views of st Ives possible, 180 degrees over the bay!
That flat was clean and so spacious! Plenty of room!
We're already planning New Years 2016/17 and certainly will be booking here again!!

We enjoyed our winter short-stay in this flat as we have now for 3 years running. The view is something to "die" for, overlooking much of St. Ives as it does. The flat itself "sparkles" and is well appointed - and the beds are comfortable, a great bonus! We were four adults and because most of the rooms are spacious, there was no bumping into one another. The owner is concerned and attentive and listens to comments. We are happy to recommend a stay in this flat, full stop. Herb Tandree

New Year Visit
We have visited St Ives many times but have not stayed in this accommodation before. We had no difficulty finding the flat from the very comprehensive instructions we received from the owners and the flat was exactly as expected from the pictures we had seen, although the photos could not do justice to the magnificent views.
Everything was clean and well maintained and we felt very comfortable and at home. Seabirds is at the top of the town so there is peace and quiet away from the crowds when you want it but it is only a few minutes’ walk into the main streets. However, you need your flat shoes and a bit of energy as the going is steep!
St Ives has so much to offer all year round with the superb beaches, Tate St Ives and the other smaller art galleries, and the shops and restaurants.
We have never been at New Year before but will certainly be going again. The atmosphere during the week was so lively especially on New Year's Eve when everyone puts on fancy dress, and the fireworks display at midnight is amazing. We watched this from our balcony with a glass of champagne in hand and it was the most memorable New Year for us in a long time.
Nearby we visited the Christmas lights at Mousehole and Angarrack, and also had a lovely lunch at the Godolphin Arms in Marazion, all of which we would recommend. However, there is still plenty to see and do in the town if you don't come by car, and if the weather isn't quite so good you have the perfect excuse to sit and look at the views.
We have no hesitation in recommending the property and will hopefully be returning soon.
About the host
Hosted by Mary Brown
Hello! We are Mary and Henry Brown, the owners. We live in London and have a wonderful team of people in St Ives who help us to take care of Barnoon and Seabirds House. Henry looks after any issues with the building, and I manage the bookings. I really enjoy the contact with our guests - many regulars feel like friends even when all the contact has been by email. Apart from St Ives and family, our main interest is sailing - in a dinghy on the Thames and a bigger boat on the sea.
Why they chose this property
In 1998 we bought a little flat in Barnoon Terrace, having fallen in love with St Ives, and the view. We let it as well as using it ourselves from the start. Then we saw another property just up the hill which was in a very sorry state indeed. We bought it and had the inside completely rebuilt, turning the original 7 flatlets into 5 lovely flats, taking full advantage of the view. This is Seabirds House and we think the position and views are unbeatable. The flats are bright and cheerful, IKEA style. No chintz!
