About this property
Son March Petite - Three Bedroom Villa, Sleeps 5
Ground Floor: Kitchen/dining room (oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine) with door to terrace. Lounge (TV, WiFi, Bluetooth speaker). Single bedroom (A/C). Shower room. First Floor: Double bedroom (A/C) with en suite bathroom. Twin bedroom (A/C). Shower room. Outside: Shaded dining terrace. Sun terraces. In-built barbecue. Mature garden with lawn. Private parking. Private swimming pool (7m x 4.5m) with side Roman steps.
The perfect location in which to immerse yourself in nature whilst remaining within easy distance of excellent amenities and lovely sandy beaches, Son March Petite nestles in the gorgeous Son March Valley, an unspoilt rural swathe of incredible scenery and magnificent views.
Offering so much to enjoy for wildlife enthusiasts, ramblers, cyclists or, indeed, anyone simply seeking an escape from the daily mundane, this romantically rustic retreat is privately secreted within a tiny huddle of classic stone buildings swathed in history. Two hundred years ago the property was a key part of a small hamlet consisting of a manor house, chapel, traditional olive press and a schoolhouse run by a brethren of monks who resided in the adjacent priory - today known as Son March Petite.
Providing an authentic encounter with Mallorquin yesteryear the well-preserved walls of that schoolhouse still stand today (next to the barbecue in the accompanying photos).
Stepping inside the cottage traditional beamed ceilings and quarry-tiled floors merge effortlessly with modern-day essentials such as air-conditioning, contemporary kitchen appliances, a flat screen TV and WiFi. Exposed stone walls add a hint of the past to the bedrooms which are each complimented by an individual bath/shower room. From the first floor those gorgeous views over the valley’s rolling topography are particularly eye-catching - the outlook from the twin bedroom window alone will surely prompt a wave of inspiration for any would-be artist or poet!
Surrounding the private swimming pool a choice of shady nooks and crannies can be found in the enclosed garden which is home to a fragrant orange tree, impressive prickly-pear cactus, an old twisted apple tree and ancient stone water well. Listen out for the nightingale that often perches in the olive tree beside the pool at sunset to serenade the sheep as they lethargically wander back to the fold after a long hard day grazing the surrounding meadows. Rubbing shoulders with nature in such beautiful surrounds simply doesn't get any better.
In marked contrast, only a 10-minute drive from this glorious bucolic haven you have the vivacious, upbeat vibe of old town Pollença to enjoy. Here you will find an array of chic boutiques, craft shops, tapas bars, coffee shops and elegant bistros dotted around the main plaza and cobbled side streets, plus a bustling Sunday market offering a vast selection of fresh local produce (and some seriously tempting local pastries).
Just a few minutes further on, the rolling foothills give way to an impressive collection of pretty coves, rocky inlets and family-friendly sandy beaches for which the stunning northern coastline is famed.
Gaps in the staircase banister mean young children will require supervision Flexible duration available for any arrivals up to 25/05/25 and after 22/09/25 Air conditioning usage is on a timer (12 hours per day) Property Licence No. VTV/1604BAL
