Sleeping 4 guests in 2 bedrooms, Heron Cottage is a homely and contemporary cottage nestled in the heart of the historic village of Castle Acre.
This cosy cottage is ideal for those wanting to explore all of Norfolk, and If you enjoy history then you will love the views from the cottage windows onto the 12th-century remains of one of the original Bailey Gate structures.
The property is beautifully furnished and features many tasteful interior design touches alongside a log burner in lounge. It has been thoughtfully prepared and is ideal for couples and small families.
Ground Floor
Enter the property through the front door and into the spacious and well equipped hallway which offers plenty of coat hanging space, shoe storage and umbrellas. From the hallway guests can access the living room, kitchen/diner and ascend the staircase to the first floor.
The living room has been handsomely designed with green, beige and brown hues to give a homely yet stylish feel. The design is complemented with a wood burning stove, perfect for the winter months and after a long day traversing the Norfolk countryside and coastline. The room offers plenty of comfortable seating, 2 floor lamps, a large coffee table, console table with lamps and a smart TV, making it an ideal space to unwind in with family and friends.
The kitchen/diner is a well appointed, open plan area which has been cleverly designed to make use of the space available. It has been planned with bright designs and offers seating for up to 6 guests, making is a wonderfully sociable and relaxing space to enjoy with loved ones. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of facilities such as, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and a washing machine and extra laundry facilities in the walk in pantry. There is a back door which leads out to the enclosed courtyard and private parking.
First Floor
At the top of the stairs walk down the landing to access bedroom 1, bedroom 2 and the family bathroom.
Both bedrooms are designed with a contemporary yet cosy design and boast views of the historic architecture of the Norman flint-built Bailey Gate.
Bedroom 1 offers a double bed alongside a large dresser, bedside tables with lamps and a large wooden wardrobe.
Bedroom 2 is a twin bedroom, also offering a lovely wardrobe, bedside table with lamp and intricate design features.
The family bathroom is light and airy and provides a shower, WC and washbasin, alongside plenty of bathroom storage.
Outside
The cottage offers private parking for 1 car which can be accessed through the enclosed courtyard to the rear of the property.
The enclosed courtyard area is perfect for al fresco dining and soaking up the last of the evening sun. There is an extra gate towards the front of the property to access the street and to view the wonderful Bailey Gate remains.
Walk through the Bailey Gate to access the village green, local pub and quaint village tearoom.
