Unresponsive host

House is good and very neat at checkin and in good location but overpriced for the overall experience. The host was unresponsive after checkin - some very basic kitchen utilities were missing and the host didn’t respond till the last day of stay. The additional component of tourist tax asked by host was questionable at €6.05/p/d when VRBO mentions it at about €4.

Property manager Roberto was great - very flexible and helpful. Location turned out to be interesting: Rambla Prim is the place where young locals (and not only locals) converge to have fun on weekends. Fun to see, but very noisy until 4-5 in the morning. The property is poorly maintained: bathroom plumbing needs a lot of attention. The biggest issue were the mosquitoes. Thousands of them. We got bitten badly even though we generously sprayed ourselves with deet. The simplest thing the owner could do is install mosquito nets on doors and windows (including the one in the bathroom). It is immoral to subject your guests to such torture when the issue can be addressed very cheaply. The walls and the ceilings are covered with smashed mosquitoes. To the owner (investor): please invest some money in installing mosquito nets and fix your plumbing. I wouldn't recommend the apartment to anyone until this is done.
