About this property

Countryside cosy cottage on working arable farm

Rusty’s Retreat. A cosy self catering, 2 bedroom (1 king/1 twin) barn conversion. Situated in Wressle village on our working arable farm. A few minutes drive from the beautiful market town of Howden (J37 M62).

York (30 minute drive/20 mins to the Park & Ride bus at McArthur Glen), Leeds, Beverley, Hull, Doncaster, Selby are all less than an hours drive away. Drax 20 mins. Bridlington is 1 hour away. Ideally situated for a holiday/short break or work. We have 3 cottages, this is just for 1.

Refurbished in 2020 we've included some lovely soft furnishings handmade locally. The cottage comprises an upstairs open plan, galleried bedroom with a very comfy, good quality kingsize bed.

Downstairs there's a twin bedroom. An open plan kitchen/living area with a small breakfast bar to sit at. Patio doors open from the downstairs living area onto your patio with picnic bench seating, showcasing stunning views across the farm

In front of the cottages there is a large grassed area. Perfect for children to run around or just sit and enjoy the view. There is also plenty of tarmac for children to ride bikes/scooters. We also provide a few children’s outdoor toys (pedal tractors etc) and games as well as an outdoor all weather chalk board.

There are fishing lakes and golf courses close by. The beautiful market town Howden is just 10 minutes away and well worth a visit. The train station at Howden provides direct links to many nearby cities as well as London Kings Cross. York is half an hour.

Heating is provided via our biomass boiler. Free Wi-Fi is included as well as towels, bedding and hairdryers. A few basics to get you started (washing up liquid, tea, coffee, milk, dishwasher tablets).

Travel cot available to hire. We also have a highchair and children's indoor toys available on request.

All 3 cottages can be booked together for group parties, totalling 12 people.

We are a working arable farm. No livestock but there are occasionally tractors working in the fields.

We do have CCTV for the farm and part of the cottages.
