About this property
Two Bedroom Cottage, Sleeps 4
Bwthyn Llys Twrog is a modern and quirky two-bedroom Victorian barn that’s been stylishly converted into a holiday home that is perfect for a couple or small family. The old barn, found next to the main farmhouse, has amazing panoramic views that stretch out across the Menai Straits, from its perch near the principal North Wales towns of Caernarfon and Porthmadog.
The conversion of this amazing Victorian barn is a mixture of the old and new. Sympathetically converted to be a modern place for guests to stay, the property retains some key original features of the old barn, such as the exposed beams that really showcase the character of the dwelling. There are two bedrooms, the first bedroom, found on the ground floor, has a kingsize bed, and upstairs, tied into the A-frame of the barn’s upper structure, is a roomy twin. NB. The crog loft aesthetic does mean the room has slightly restricted headroom, but it does add to the overall character of the cottage.
Also downstairs, there is modern shower room, complete with WC and wash basin, and then onto the open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner with doors that lead to the patio area where guests can enjoy the wonderful summer sunsets this elevated spot, high in the hills above Penygroes, can afford.
Facilities at the cottage include fridge and freezer, washing machine, microwave. There is high speed WiFi internet access and a TV with DVD player, HD Freesat & catch-up capabilities. Outdoors, on the enclosed patio area, you will find garden furniture and a place to eat outdoors when the weather is good and ample parking for your car. Bed linen and towels are supplied.
Bwthyn Llys Twrog is just five miles from a wonderful beach at Dinas Dinlle, on the elevated hills above Penygroes, where there are panoramic views across to the Menai Straits, Llanddwyn Island and Holyhead on Anglesey. Not too far away, there are some abandoned slate quarries that provide a fascinating insight into the history of North Wales. This is an excellent area for walking or mountain biking from the door, with easy access to mountains, historic castles and other attractions including a nearby Welsh vineyard. The impressive Caernarfon Castle in the Royal Town of Caernarfon on the edge of the Menai Straits, which separates the Isle of Anglesey from the mainland.
Details of arrival, location, and check-in and other useful information will be emailed to you 1 week before your arrival. If you do not receive these details, please contact info@northwalesholidaycottages.co.uk.
