Region: The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
Town: This charming Ribblesdale village is located just across the river from the vibrant market town of Settle and beneath a limestone scar that is a component of the Craven fault. The 'date stones' over their doorways will indicate that many of the robust homes and cottages in this extremely picturesque location date to the 17th century. The picturesque St. Alkelda's church, which dates to the 12th century, and the iconic domed chapel of the illustrious Giggleswick School, which dominates the local skyline, remain the focal points of the village today. There are two pubs in Giggleswick, and Settle, a small market town, is close by and offers a wide range of services. The village of Ingleton is further away and has a beautiful waterfall trek, and the Three Peaks are nearby (for serious walkers, of course).
