You’ll find ideas of what to do and where to go from a recommendations board sharing the best places to visit, walk, eat and drink, so the job of getting back to nature couldn’t be easier. Slow down and feel energised by the early morning sun and the sound of free-range chickens from a private garden overlooking a paddock. The area has more than just countryside walking to inspire you with village links to Geoffrey Chaucer. Other places of interest nearby include the picturesque town of Henley-on-Thames, known most of the world over for its Royal Regatta held in the first week of July and its festivals running throughout the summer. Other places to visit include Greys Court, Nuffield Place, and Basildon Park, all National Trust properties. Harcourt Arboretum, the Earth Trust Centre, the Aston Martin Heritage Trust Museum and Wittenham Clumps, for stunning panoramic views of south Oxfordshire. Plenty of local golf courses in the area for golf enthusiasts and if trains are of interest, there is a large collection of steam locomotives at Didcot Railway Centre where you can also ride on the 1930’s trains.
