In the heart of the Peak District a hidden gem. Hollow Brook Cottage (formerly Clara Cottage) is one of three cottages situated 5 minutes from the famous Riley Graves in the picturesque and beautiful village of Eyam. Close enough to explore many stunning Peak District walks, cafe's, cycle trails, pubs and scenic views but also quiet and remote enough to be immersed in the country side with the views and fresh air expected in such a unique location. The private patio area is ideal for a BBQ or a relax in the private hot tub. Once you arrive at the cottage you will immediately feel at home in this warm and cosy space. In the winter the log fire will be a treat after a walk or in the summer relaxing outside in the private patio area with the BBQ and a glass of bubbles.

Lovely home from home in the Peaks

A lovely comfortable retreat for our family of 4 during our first trip exploring The Peaks. Great location having the benefit of quiet, scenic retreat and short walk into beautiful Eyam. Hot tub a fab added extra to sooth any aches after exploring the gorgeous countryside. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful cottage in stunning location

We had a wonderful stay in Clara’s cottage. It was clean, very comfortable, and very well appointed. It was equipped with everything we could have needed. We loved the hot tub after a day of walking. It was great to be able to walk straight from the cottage too. Thank you Emma for the delicious treats. Would thoroughly recommend.

We had a really relaxing time at Clara cottage. The weather was very hot but we managed to stay cool and there were fans available if needed. My brother loved the hot tub. The property is configured nicely and the upstairs bathroom and roll top bath are superb. We’d definitely recommend highly.

Welcome, my name is Emma and I live with my family in the main house near the cottage. We love to welcome those who want to enjoy the beautiful surroundings that we are lucky enough to call our home. The walks, views, bike trails, pubs and surrounding villages make this a truly peaceful location to enjoy so much.

Why they chose this property

Clara cottage is one of three cottages that used to be a milking shed. These have been renovated in 2007 to a beautifully high standard with all the modern essentials but keeping the essence of the past. The views and the peace and quiet make this place truly unique, sitting just above Eyam village steeped in its history of the first village to introduce a lock down during the plague in the 1600's where two thirds of the village sacrificed their lives to protect the surrounding villages and towns.

What makes this property unique

You could stay here for a week and have no need to get in your car. There are numerous walks, bike rides, running trails from your door step. The village is a 10 minute walk away and offers cosy cafes, a great pub serving amazing food and a bistro. You can even get a shopping delivery or a takeaway.
