Enjoy a one minute stroll to the famous Skinner Street and you will find an array of places to eat, drink and shop. Benefiting from stunning views across the rooftops, a south facing patio area and private on-site parking, you will be truly spoilt in this bright, spacious home from home.
The Space:
Mumbles Cottage is a truly special stay in the heart of Whitby. Offering a cosy living room, kitchen diner, downstairs WC, three bedrooms, a family bathroom, a private patio area and a large driveway with space for two large vehicles, you’ll be treated to a truly spectacular holiday home with plenty of perks.
Head to the living room and you’ll find a homely space. Benefiting from a large bay window which floods the room with light, this room is bright and welcoming. The perfect place to retreat to after a day exploring the North Yorkshire coast, you can relax on the sofa or one of the armchairs and turn on the TV to enjoy Freeview.
Fully equipped for self-catering stays, the kitchen in Mumbles Cottage has everything you could need to prepare home cooked meals. Ultra stylish, the kitchen features blue cabinets and vintage style tiles. Modern appliances and amenities include an oven, hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher.
Also sharing this space is the dining area which features a light wood dining table and two matching benches.
Head upstairs to the first floor and you’ll find two bedrooms as well as the family bathroom. The master bedroom benefits from a King size four poster bed, a dressing table and a wardrobe. Ideal for children and teenagers, the second bedroom is a twin.
Modern and spacious, the family bathroom benefits from a large walk in shower as well as a WC and basin. Please note there is also a separate WC on the ground floor.
Take the stairs again to the second floor and you’ll find the third bedroom. With sloped ceilings and skylight windows, this space is cosy and relaxing. A double bed, chest of drawers and comfortable chairs complete the room.
Outside you’ll find a large, private south facing patio area. A real treat in the heart of Whitby, you can relax outside in the sunshine during your stay.
If you are travelling in a large group, you can reserve both Mumbles Cottage and Tenby Cottage. These two properties are located next door to one another and sleep up to 12 guests in total.

Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
There is private parking at the property, suitable for two large cars.
The Neighborhood:
Mumbles Cottage is located in the centre of Whitby, just a one minute walk from Skinner Street. With restaurants, shops, a delicatessen, bakery and much more on your doorstep, you can enjoy everything Whitby has to offer, then retreat back to Mumbles Cottage to enjoy the peace and quiet.
The cottage is located on the West side of the seaside town making it perfect for reveling in nostalgic seaside charm - head to the arcades or explore the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts.
Venture over the swing bridge and you’ll reach the East bank. This side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around:
Whitby train station is a ten minute walk from the cottage so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
