About this property
Cosy, unique house near harbour in Gudhjem
Welcome in this cosy ground floor of a large house in the middle of Gudhjem.
The building historically housed a Sunday school for a Baptist church as well as a hairdresser, among other things in during its long life. It has a lot of warmth and Danish hygge. Today this is our home for most of the year and we hope you love it as much as we do.
The space included in the rental is two separate bedrooms (Dame Salon and Herre Salon) with two single beds in each, a large open plan living room and dining room with the potential for additional sleeping space for two on the sofa bed, a large kitchen, and a shower room.
Also in the rental in a small grassed garden at the back of the house for outdoor dining and spending time outside.
The living room has a dining table for 6 - 8 people as well as a large sofa and reading chairs. The television is equipped with a Google Chromecast so guests can watch direct from their own devices. There is a Bluetooth speaker for listening to music.
The kitchen is well stocked with essential equipment and includes all cookware and dishes. Please note there is no freezer. There is a dishwasher, an oven and a stove with plenty of storage space.
The shower room is small but functional with a toilet, sink and wet room shower.
Some additional notes to be aware of which we think makes the house extra special:
- we will be living on the first floor during your stay. It's an old house so you will likely hear our footsteps when we're home. The only shared space is the hallway towards the back of the house which is where our entrance and private bath is. Please refer to the figure showing the house layout (it's not drawn to scale).
- as well as the two of us living here there are also our cats, Mao and Frances. It is entirely possible to close off the rental completely from them if you like - if you leave the doors to the back stairs open you will most likely have a couple small furry visitors! They love laps and some rubs (but not too many for Mao...) and you'll probably hear them running around upstairs from time to time. Please don't feed them, they get plenty of treats from us.
- Because this is their home for most of the year, while every attempt is made to remove all cat fur it may not be suitable for people with severe allergies.
- there will be a little booklet left in the house with more information about your stay
