Here are the good things: the water temperature and pressure were excellent--so rare at a rental, especially in the UK. The location/proximity to tube stations were great, which was a big reason we booked here. The space heaters work well, as does the iron. The property was broom clean. The neighborhood is lively and interesting. However: We smelled mold the minute we opened the exterior door, and it didn't dissipate once in the flat. We could SEE significant mold in the skylights and on the shower ceiling behind a beam. The ceiling paint is peeling, all sure signs of constant damp. The washer worked, but because the flat is so cold and damp, we had to point one of the space heaters at the clothes rack overnight for things to dry out (which made me nervous). There is only one window in the flat. The bigger concern was how bare bones the property was. We had an 8-day stay and had flown on EasyJet, thus were hoping for decent toiletries. Instead, we found three tiny tubes (soap, shampoo, and conditioner) good for two people for one night at best. NO kitchen towels. NO hand soap. NO paper towels. NO salt, even. We had to go out immediately to buy some, plus shampoo, plus toilet paper/loo roll--the considerable remnants of which we had to leave behind, because EasyJet. (Fortunately there's a Sainsbury's Express and a couple of ethnic markets around the corner and a M&S Food Hall two blocks away.) Be aware that the price reflects management's minimalist approach.
