About this property

Huge Luxurious Barn conversion

Sleeps up to 9 People. Pets Welcome!

Beacons Barn, our very own converted cowshed, is truly beautiful and has been awarded a 5* rating. You can really feel the origins of the original barn in Beacons, with its exposed stone walls, and original and very worn slate step leading from the kitchen into the living room. Beacons has been finished to the highest of standards with slate and oak flooring and underfloor heating throughout and even a Jacuzzi bath. From this barn you have superb views over the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. You will wake up to the sound of birdsong and quite possibly the gentle rustling of the mountain breeze. It is the perfect spot for a family getaway.

Beacons has a large kitchen diner with French doors leading onto your own private patio, looking directly out onto the Black Mountains. It has a beautiful oak kitchen with a large fridge freezer, a large double oven range cooker with gas hob, a dishwasher, kettle, toaster, microwave, washing machine and tumble drier. The beautiful old dining table in this property comfortably seats up to 8 people with room to add in a couple more if you like.

Beacons has three bathrooms. There is a downstairs toilet and shower, and upstairs you have an en suite in one of the main bedrooms with a further shower, and a beautifully finished main bathroom with his and hers sinks and a Jacuzzi bath.

Beacons has four bedrooms. Two large rooms with super king beds, one double bedroom and one single bedroom. In addition to this, one of the sofas in the living room also doubles as a sofa bed. All of the bedrooms have beautiful traditional Welsh cushions and throws which we have sourced from a local woollen mill.

The living room in Beacons is large and spacious. There are two large sofas, a chair, a 65inch curved screen led TV with DVD player and also a music system. There are lovely oak double doors leading from this room onto the patio too.

Rhiwddu farmhouse and barns is an ancient hill farm, consisting of 4 properties.
Adventurers Abode is an attached Cottage that sleeps 2 it even has a bath in the bedroom
Ramblers Retreat also attached is very plush, is rated at 5* and sleeps 2 upstairs with space on a sofa bed downstairs for another 2, an open plan lounge/Kitchen with a massive bathroom downstairs.
Beacons Barn is the jewel in the crown, this sleeps 7 people upstairs with space for another 2 on a sofa bed downstairs its stunning, there is a jacuzzi bath in one of the 3 bathrooms 2 super king bedrooms (1 ensuite) ,1 double and 1 single. It also has a private patio area.
Rhiwddu Farmhouse is unbelievable, a massive inglenook fireplace with a bread oven and log burner, far reaching views from the kitchen, private garden, 4 bedrooms (1 ensuite) two walk in wardrobes, it sleeps 6 people on 1 King size bed, 1 Double bed and 2 single beds.
All properties have free wifi, smart Televisions and bluetooth music systems.
The site is nestled on the side of the Black mountain, far reaching views, you will see an abundance of wildlife and the Stars on a clear night are staggering.
There are great walks straight from the door with a private gate directly onto the mountain.

The locals are really friendly and the local village (Llangadog) is 6 miles away, there is a mini market, Butcher, postoffice 2 restaurants and 3 pubs, what more do you need!

Beautiful location and lovely large cottage

This was a perfect venue for the five of us (friends and dogs). The barn is lovely and right at the foot of the mountain. You can walk straight onto it from there and be amongst the sheep. There are lots of walks close by but shops and pubs are further out so stock up. The spa bath is enormous, beds very comfortable and there is lots of room for everyone.

Hello I'm Lance,I bought Rhiwddu Barns in 2008 and moved into the Farmhouse with my family, we stayed there for 10 years and loved every moment, to this day I still love going up there (even if it is to put the bins out!)
We moved out in 2017 to a property about 20 miles away to try our hand at Farming!
I'm Ex Army and Mountain Rescue and love everything outdoorsy, I like to keep Rhiwddu in top condition and can be found up at the site regularly with a paintbrush, I love it when like minded people enjoy themselves up there and enjoy meeting guests from all over the world, nothing pleases me more than happy guests.
