About this property
A stunning newly converted barn conversion close on the Carmarthenshire coast
This brand new barn conversion is situated in a unique and beautiful location near Ginst point outside Laugharne. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms all on one level, this is a perfect getaway for all ages.
Property Highlights
★ Brand New refurbishment completed in 2023
★ New to Great Welsh Escapes portfolio in March 2023
★ One level accommodation
★ Main bathroom and separate walk in shower room
★ Open plan living with log burner and SMART TV
★ Secure outside store room for bikes, kayaks etc
★ Off street parking and fully enclosed garden with fire-pit and furniture
This newly converted barn is situated just a few miles off the main road in between Laugharne and Pendine, making it the perfect location for a break with the family.
Arrive at the property with its off street parking and gated entrance. The pretty red door and windows to this cottage are characterful like the rest of the feel, and will make you feel at home as soon as you arrive.
Enter the front of the property into the main living area and off to the right corridor you will find both bedrooms and the main bathrooms. There is a lovely twin bedroom with exposed stone walls, as seen throughout, and next to this bedroom will find the main bathroom which is modern with a large bath. Further down the corridor is the main large bedroom with king bed and Melin Tregwynt accessories, and ample storage.
Back to the living area you will be able to relax and unwind on the large L shape sofa, sitting in front of the lovely log burner on a winter's evening after a nice coastal walk. There is a large smart tv where you can unwind with a glass of wine and cosy up to watch a film, or play board games with the family around the large dining table. The well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar is perfect for rustling up a hearty breakfast before you start your day's adventures, or equally perfect for coming home and preparing a family meal.
There is also a utility room with washing machine and drier, clothes horse, and a further shower room which has a walk in shower.
This property is perfect for all ages, and also lends itself also to less able bodied as it’s all on one level with no steps to interior and minimal steps to exterior.
Other things to note
-The barn is located within MOD land. On the whole this should not impact your stay, but there will be times during the day where the MOD carry out some testing and fire out to sea.
-There is a travel cot and highchair available upon request
-Limited phone service on Vodafone and O2 within the Laugharne area
-Our reviews are based on previous guests experiences
Local Area
This property is located within the firing range managed by the Ministry of Defense at Pendine and is accessed via a security gate between Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm . Outside of these hours there is no security on the gate and you are free to access the beach at a Ginst Point or walk on the roads nearby, which is lovely and quiet and perfect for an evening's walk.
The cottage is walking distance to Ginst Point. It is a little known beach near Laugharne and it is a popular place for cockling. Tides can be strong there so it’s no good for swimming but great for kids to have a run on the huge beach at low tide. There are no lifeguards and no public toilets.
The town of Laugharne on the estuary of the Taf River and offers stunning estuary walks, including the infamous Dylan Thomas Birthday Walk. There are also plenty of woodland walks and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path starts nearby.
There are also a good choice of outdoor activities available in the area, ranging from horse riding, coasteering, to a variety of water sports, abseiling, orienteering, caving and gorge walking.
There are many beautiful rugged beaches in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, along with the more popular coastal resorts of Pendine, Saundersfoot and Tenby.
There is an abundance of interesting attractions locally, including Castles, historic houses and National Botanical Gardens to name a few.
For the younger generation we are a short drive away from the likes of Folly Farm, Oakwood, Wild Lakes, Manor House Wildlife Park, Heatherton World of Activities and Dinosaur Park to name a few.
