About this property
Great living and activity space, easy walks country lanes.
Tai Chi house is designed to enable you to wake up to rising sun. It is a place of tranquility, being a home that we have used for 50 years, therefore has some quirks from the 1970s and showing a little wear and tear. The garden is a great hit with guests that have children and can be a place for the whole family; when the weather is fine you can eat outdoors. The sylvian setting is a place for nesting and perching birds and foxes, hares and rabbits can be seen in the adjoining fields.
It enables you to enjoy a dual aspect from many of the rooms, in particular sit back and watch the sun drop over Sugarloaf Hill a mile or two away in Butlerstown.
Waterford and Tramore are almost equidistant, provide culture and historic town and city walks, the old Viking Centre, the Waterford Crystal works and Visitor Centre, and the Royal Theatre. Opera lovers will inform you of its unique acoustics. Players will tell the unique atmosphere Red Kettle and other theatre groups have achieved in this fine hall.
Tramore racing season provides an opportunity to visit Tramore, the beach, its fairground are legendary ,as is The Esquire bar and restaurant, the Japanese Gardens or further afield Mount Congreve, Curraghmore estate and the wonder that is the wilderness the Comeragh Mountains.
For those interested in archaeology, the Green Road is 3km from Tai Chi House, location of Cromwell’s massing circa 1649 and Knockeen Dolman is 1km from the house on rambling routes or circuits encouraged by us. City Square Shopping Centre houses its quayside site's historic artefacts, the local Historical Society hold a vault of archives treats.
