About this property

The Old Post Office, nr Wadebridge & woodland walk

New property from May 2023   The Old Post Office is a spacious, two bedroom, traditional cottage with gorgeous cottage garden located in the hamlet of Burlawn on the outskirts of Wadebridge.  Surrounding Burlawn are dog walks a plenty including nice walks through Bishop's and Hustyn's Woods.  Talking of Hustyn's (within a five minute drive of Burlawn) is Hustyn's Resort which welcomes non residents to use their extensive leisure facilities which include indoor pool, tennis courts, crazy golf and gym.  There is also a spa at Hustyn's resort but booking in advance will be required and charges apply to all facilities.  The restaurants at Hustyn's serve food throughout the day and evening and again welcome non residents but booking in advance is required to avoid disappointment.  The popular town of Wadebridge is less than 2 miles from The Old Post Office and here you will find a great selection of independent shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and two screen cinema.  Wadebridge offers a choice of supermarkets as well as leisure centre and lovely park with tennis courts. Wadebridge forms part of the Camel cycle trail with bicycle hire shops a plenty.  The trail will take you to Padstow in one direction and towards Bodmin in the other.  Padstow is famous for its lovely harbour and happens to be home to some of the County's finest restaurants including Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant and Paul Ainsworth's No 6.  Bodmin, (formerly the County town) has plenty to offer too including the popular visitor attraction, Bodmin Jail which is well worth a visit. Just outise of Bodmin is one of the County's most famous National Trust properties, Lanhydrock with the lovely woods, secret glades and cafe at Cardinham with picnic benches a plenty.   This traditionally presented, end of terrace Cornish cottage is entered from the front where you will find a lovely size, carpeted dining room with oak dining table and chairs, feature fireplace and beamed ceiling.  Off the dining room and up a couple of steps is the fully equipped kitchen.  Kitchen appliances include halogen hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer and full length fridge and separate freezer. The comfortable living room with wood burner and beamed ceiling provides ample comfy leather seating set around a Cornish stone fireplace with wood burner and large Freeview television. At the bottom of the staircase is a door that leads into a handy boot room with separate WC off. From the boot room a apir of French doors lead out into the sunny cottage garden and the back. The original wooden twist and turn, steep Cornish staircase (with handrails) leads up to the two bedrooms comprising of a twin bedroom with zip and link bed and a bedroom with king size bed.  Both bedrooms are at the front of the cottage.  Ample hanging and drawer space is provided across both bedrooms.  A family bathroom WC with basin, bath and overhead electric shower completes the accommodation layout. This property is heated by oil central heating. There is no garden to the front of the cottage however, to the back is the most pretty, enclosed and sunny cottage garden with patio area and furniture provided.  An outside tap is conveniently located near the boot room for any muddy, four legged members of the family to wash off.  There is one, dedicated parking space for the cottage.   Please note This property welcomes 2 small or medium size dogs or 1 large dog Apart from the living room entrance and boot room doorway, there is generally good head height throughout the property. Please notify the office when booking how you would like the zip and link bed making up for your holiday SHORT BREAKS - are accepted between Easter and October - not including school holiday weeks - minimum 3 nights-
