No frills, good value, good location, clean, had the facilities I wanted, very good.

I just wanted a nice clean comfortable room with basic facilities for my one night stay and this was perfect. The hotel is close to the railway station and in walking distance to the town centre with restaurants opposite. The staff were friendly. I’d definitely stay at the Royal Ashton again.

I greatly enjoyed my stay at Royal Ashton Townhouse.

The staff at the hotel were always very friendly and helpful. This was my first time visiting Taunton, and I was surprised by just how kind and approachable the local people were. The location is ideal - the shops, train station, bus stops, eateries, and supermarket are all within an easy walk. The room had good heating and was a comfortable place to spend two nights. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to thank the staff there, so I hope this review goes some way to showing my appreciation.

My bedding was never changed the whole four nights I stayed there and when I decided to speak to the lady receptionist about it her response was awful,she questioned me about how times do I change my bedding at home.

My stay was a rescue: train cancellations meant that I could not return home to Minehead by bus. I appreciated very much the friendly help given at night and in the morning by the person apparently in sole charge of the hotel. What pleased me about the room was the cleanliness.
