About this property
Froxfield Cottage - 3 bedroom character Purbeck stone cottage
Froxfield Cottage is a cosy renovated quarryman's cottage built in the 1850s, sympathetically decorated in a mix of contemporary and traditional style. Located along a private path at the end of a small terrace, in the village of Langton Matravers, this cottage is an ideal destination for a relaxing family holiday or get away with friends. From a modest exterior, the cottage opens up to reveal spacious accommodation for up to six people.
The bedrooms are tastefully presented in neutral tones with your comfort in mind. Views towards the sea at Swanage can be enjoyed from the first floor bedroom, with king size bed and en suite wc, a real treat to wake up to after a peaceful night's sleep. There is also a pretty twin bedded room on this floor. The second floor's bedroom with vaulted ceiling, also with en suite wc, benefits a triple aspect with both sea and countryside views.
The cottage is enveloped by beautiful countryside and the dramatic Purbeck Hills, perfect for those wishing to enjoy either peaceful country walks or an active cycling holiday. The South West Coast Path, affords some of the most stunning scenery in Dorset. Langton Matravers benefits from a traditional village pub which serves food daily., Purbeck Stone museum and children's adventure farm. The seaside town of Swanage is pure nostalgia and less than a 5 minute drive away, where you will find a blue flag gently shelving sandy beach and sheltered waters, you may even spot dolphins and seals out in the bay, which can often be seen from Dulston Country Park . Ride a steam train through the countryside, walk along the Victorian pier and Sample the local fare in the quality bistros, sea view restaurants, traditional pubs and tearooms. The town also has a thriving events calendar with a variety of railway events, jazz, folk, fish festivals and the annual regatta and carnival week, always popular with locals and visitors alike.
