About this property

Secluded & Beautifully Restored Tudor Home w Large Garden. Family & Pet friendly

A Tudor cottage which has been lovingly refurbished and extended to provide a stunning countryside retreat ideal for those wanting to escape the rat race. The cottage sits in 10 acres of gardens in the rolling hills of Elham Valley with no immediate neighbours but is conveniently located for the historic cathedral city of Canterbury, the East Kent coast and the Channel Tunnel. The garden includes two ponds, wildflower meadows, a woodland, hillside patio with a wood fired hot tub and a tree house.
The space
Recently refurbished to a very high standard Ivy Cottage offers three large double bedrooms, three bathrooms, an office, a sitting room centered around a large Inglenook fireplace together with a large chesterfield sofa bed which doubles as a pull out sofa bed, boot room for all those muddy country dog walks and a large country kitchen with bifold doors leading into the gardens. The cottage combines all the charms of yesteryear with all of today's modern creature comforts and is ideal for large family get-togethers.
Guest access
Guests have free run of the grounds. The hill side garden and meadows extend to 10 acres which lead up to several footpaths including the ever popular Elham Valley Way. There is an amazing hillside patio with a 6-8 person wood fired hot tub which can be rented for a fixed £150 fee over the duration over your stay .
Other things to note
We are very much off the beaten track and is ideal for those looking to get lost in the depths of the countryside. The nearest village local shop is 3 miles away but we are always happy to stock basic items to tide you over until you can reach the exciting aisles of local supermarkets in nearby Canterbury which is a 20 minute drive away. There are lovely farm shops and an artisan bakery within a few minutes drive stocking local apple juice, cheese, bakery products, these have shorter opening hours.
