About this property
Highgate High Notes, by Veeve
Legend suggests Elvis Presley never set foot in London during his lifetime. However, we’ve got the distinct feeling if he ever did, the music icon would have taken quickly to this rockstar property. Including more than a few nods towards the undisputed king of rock and roll (and his musical contemporaries), this five-bedroom home in the heart of Highgate hits all the right tunes when it comes to modern contemporary living…
Elvis may have sadly left the building some time ago now, but you won’t be in any rush to leave this place once you clap eyes on a living room that effortlessly mixes mid-century sophistication with a dash of Warhol-inspired artistic flair. Accentuated by understated furnishings and an audacious colour palette (hat tip to the mustard-hued home cinema area) this mammoth space is further enhanced by an ingenious second dining area that doubles as a pool table. Here, you’ll easily settle any minor differences of opinion that arise at mealtimes in an entirely wholesome way: over a quick game (or let’s say best of three).
Serious foodies can pull rank in the stunning split-level kitchen and dining area, a study in modern sophistication with its clean metallic finishes and chic pendant lighting. Guests less inclined towards culinary excellence can keep themselves out of any chef’s firing line by providing some ambient entertainment at the piano. Either way, all guests will find evenings are made for the exquisite, private wrap-around terrace. A haven of tranquility amid the hubbub of Highgate life, this outdoor sanctuary is the perfect spot to prise open a bottle of your choice and kick back; close your eyes for a second and you could be in Yves Saint Laurent’s Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech.
Statement walls, eave ceilings and pared-back wood floors usher in a sense of instant relaxation in the bedrooms, which abound with light from the large windows and deftly positioned skylights. Those subtle homages to the entertainment industry are once again evident throughout – namely the Hollywood mirror in the principal bedroom and the tribute to David Bowie in the spare room. The style icon would certainly approve of the confident colour palette that bestrides the main bathroom, where the jade tiling marries seamlessly with the checkerboard floor.
Situated within easy reach of the aspirational Highgate Village, this exceptional North London home is ideally based for quick transport links to central London. We’d also recommend keeping your camera at the ready - keen amateur photographers can take advantage of some of the best views over the capital from nearby Alexandra Palace and Hampstead Heath.
We Love
The white Scandi-inspired wood floors that provide a blank canvas to showcase this home’s ample charms.
**To rent this property, the minimum age requirement is 25 years old.**
Home Truths:
No smoking, pets or parties. This property comes with a washing machine and dryer (housed in the downstairs loo). Please note bedroom 4 has a small double, more suitable for a single adult or 2 children.

Why they chose this property
Local residents have nicknamed the quaint heart of this neighbourhood “the village”, and it’s not hard to imagine why. Perched on top of Highgate Hill, Highgate feels like a sleepy country hamlet in the heart of London. It’s Georgian-period homes add to its old-world charm, and many of its lovely pubs, such as The Flask, provide cosy fireside spots to catch up with friends over a drink. Highgate Cemetery, one of the ‘magnificent seven’ Victorian burial grounds, has been a popular walking spot for over 150 years, and London’s “lungs” (formally known as Hampstead Heath) is just a short walk away.
