About this property
Meadowbrook House and glamping (up to 16 people)
Meadowbrook House, is an exceptional 4,200 sq ft Grade II Listed family house, perfect for multi generational gatherings of families & friends. The original house dates from the 16th Century and has been carefully added to in recent years and the blend of old and new is seamless.
At the rear of the property the residential garden expands into The Meadow where our 3 quirky glamping units are subtly nestled round the lake.
Combined they offer flexible accommodation for up to 16 people.
The space
Meadowbrook House is our much loved home which we sometimes rent out to guests on selected dates.
The house has a lovely warm and welcoming feel and all your home comforts are provided, it’s not your standard holiday rental!
Meadowbrook is a traditional family home originally built in 1590, the dining room, hallway, bar and sitting room make up the original section of the house downstairs.
This section of the house is beautifully decorated to suit the style of the building, with the entrance hallway decked in original wood panelling.
From the hallway you enter the dining room, this is a stunning room for family gatherings or entertaining, seating 10/12 comfortably in a beautiful atmospheric setting in shades of green, luxury crockery, plenty of candles and to complete the scene a wood burner!
The front room is packed with character and stunning original features including exposed beams and a huge inglenook open fireplace - just off this room you will find the gin bar, small but perfectly formed with a very unique 2p floor!
Above these rooms we have the en suite master bedroom with a magnificent four poster bed, high ceiling and exposed fireplace.
Opposite, we have our en-suite Narnia bedroom, with double bed and lots of black & white character!
The kitchen & breakfast room in contrast is a Victorian extension and is now a superb modern light and bright space looking out over the grounds through a picture window and patio doors; facilities include two full height fridges, two ovens, induction hob, warming drawer, microwave, freezer, walk in larder and Nespresso coffee maker.
Adjoining the kitchen is a generous fully equipped utility room.
Above the kitchen are two more modern bedrooms, both single (perfect for kids) with a brand new stunning shared shower room.
Moving further through the house you will find our spacious games room with fruit machine, record player, x-box, board games and a 60" TV - all the modern amenities you would expect plus a few more to add that fun element to your stay!
Leading from the kitchen is the annexe - connected to the house, this has two beautifully decorated modern double bedrooms (Rosalita’s & Diamond Jackie’s) with stunning views of the grounds , a shared bathroom and downstairs cloakroom. Also in the downstairs hall of the Annexe there is another full size fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle.
At the rear of the property the residential garden expands into The Meadow where our 3 quirky glamping units are subtly nestled around the lake. Wild Billy’s Gypsy Wagon, Mary’s Place Bohemian hideaway and The Magic Rat canal boat on the water are all double bedded units in luxurious and unique surroundings! Firepits and solar fairy lights complete the scene at all units.
Combined they offer flexible accommodation for 6 people that is stylish, magical and unforgettable!
The extensive 2.6 acres of The Meadow boast an outdoor heated swimming pool, a grass tennis court, a rowing boat on the lake, fabulous generous balustraded patio with outdoor kitchen/bbq area and firepit as well as many other areas around the grounds to sit and relax by the Wallop Brook or the lake and watch the wildlife glide by!
Meadowbrook House is also available on limited dates over the winter months for up to 10 guests (as the glamping is closed) https://www.airbnb.com/h/mbhouse
Guest access
Plenty of parking available on site
Other things to note
* Please note that winter bookings (Mid October - Mid April) will not include glamping or the swimming pool due to the British Weather!! The price reflects this difference in accommodation and facilities. Meadowbrook House sleeps a maximum of 10 guests during the Winter season.
* No extra house guests or visitors unless they are approved in advance.
Along a similar vein, no parties or events please, unless previously discussed and agreed. We can organise rental for events including weddings on request, bespoke prices will apply. Just ask and we can chat. Obviously we want guests to have a great time and make themselves at home when they are staying here, but it is our home so we would request nothing too noisy to respect both the house and our neighbours / village setting.
