About this property
Fox Lodge at Heygates Lodging - Waterfront Wooden Lodge with hot tub
We are located in the ancient hamlet of Elkington, which features in the Domesday Book. Our Lodges offer peace and tranquility in the English countryside, on the banks of the Grand Union Canal.
The Lodges are open plan, and feature a King Size double bed. Hair driers, bed linen, towels, dressing gowns and slippers are all provided, together with basic toiletries.
Cooking facilities are available via a built-in hob and oven, and each Lodge has its own bean-to-cup coffee machine. Heating is provided by woodburners and an electric wall heater
Outside, you can enjoy your own private firepit with seating area, large wood-fired hot tub, and decking area overlooking the banks of the canal. Each Lodge has its own private double hammock. If you like to fish, each Lodge has its own private fishing peg, situated at a turning point on the canal, meaning you won't be frequently disturbed by passing traffic.
BBQs are provided, and we offer a range of local produce for you to enjoy.
If you're celebrating a special occasion, we'd be happy to arrange any extras you might require - champagne, flower bouquets or cakes. Please contact us to discuss your requirements. We offer an extensive drinks list, catering to all tastes and budgets.
We welcome solo travellers and adult couples, who are seeking peace and quiet in the countryside. Well-behaved pets are also welcome, but must not be left alone on site.
Our site is very rural, and offers a number of delightful walking and cycling routes. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area - there are otters in the canal, and various birds of prey are a common sight. You may hear owls and foxes hunting at night.
Local points of interest include Naseby Battlefield, and reservoirs/nature reserves at Stanford, Hollowell or Pitsford.
Northamptonshire has an abundance of stately homes - Coton Manor Gardens and Althorp House are both close by. There are several golf courses in the vicinity, and we are situated midway between Northampton and Leicester, which offer rugby, football and cricket viewing options at various times of the year.
The market towns of Rugby and Market Harborough are about 20 minutes away by car.

The Heygates Lodging glamping site is family owned and run by Graham & Allison. We're experienced travellers, so have very clear views on customer service, and strive to provide the highest quality experience during your stay.
We have lived in the Midlands all our lives, and have lived here since 2009. The site opened in 2022.
Why they chose this property
Rural peace and tranquility are what you can expect when you stay with us. It's a place to switch off your phone and iPads, and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the English countryside.
What makes this property unique
Our Lodges are very rural, and are situated in a 2.5 acre wild meadow. There are only 2 Lodges on site, which are circa 80 metres apart. The Lodges are situated on the banks of the Grand Union Canal, which is just a few metres from the door.
Relax in your private hot tub or enjoy the decking that overlooks Canal. As the sun goes down, light your fire pit and cook locally sourced produce on the BBQ provided. You can also enjoy a drink from our selection of local beers and ciders or extensive wine list.
The Lodges have their own private double hammock, and a private fishing peg situated at a turning point on the canal, meaning you won't be frequently disturbed by passing traffic. Please ensure that you're appropriately licensed to fish in the canal.
