Delightful family home with garden in Balham by UnderTheDoormat
A lovely double-fronted Victorian detached house situated in the heart of Balham, a popular and convenient area of Southwest London.
The spacious lay-out offers five bedrooms, three bathrooms and a huge open-plan living space incorporating front reception room, galley kitchen and dining area which leads directly onto the sunny, lawned garden.
It is just five minutes from Balham underground station on the Northern Line which takes 15 minutes to Waterloo and 20 minutes into Leicester Square. There is also an overground line which goes directly to Victoria and Clapham Junction. The area has a vast array of shops, bars and restaurants and is popular with both young professionals and families.
The wide green open spaces of Tooting Bec Common, Wandsworth Common and Clapham Common are within easy reach.
The house can accommodate up to 10 guests - 8 adults and 2 children. Please note one of the bedrooms has bunk beds only suitable for children with the top bunk only to be used by a child over 6 years.
This substantial family home, with living space spread over 3 floors, has a great sense of charm and warmth. Modern touches combine with period features to make it a wonderful base for friends or families.
There are 3 bedrooms on the top floor, one with a king-size bed, one with a double and a twin-bed room. They have the use of a modern wet room with shower, WC and sink unit.
On the middle floor is the master bedroom with super-king size bed and ensuite bathroom with bath and rainfall shower. It has a TV suitable only for screen sharing. Also on this floor is a child’s room with bunk beds. They are served by a spacious family bathroom with bath and handheld shower.
There is storage in every bedroom.
The kitchen is well-stocked with all the equipment needed for self-catering. Alternatively, Balham is a cosmopolitan hub of cafes and restaurants for those who love eating out. The washing machine and tumble dryer are located in the lower ground floor basement.
In the front reception room, there are two large leather sofas and a comfy chair, perfect for relaxing in front of the TV.
The Location
The house lies in a residential road close to Balham High Road and the underground and overground stations at Balham.
