About this property
Candelai Country Apartment by Wonderful Italy
Charming and cozy apartment in the heart of Ortigia.
The apartment, on the second floor of a pedestrian alley in the center of Ortigia, is characterized by rustic style, terracotta floors, wooden and ceramic details and furnishings reminiscent of the old country houses. The entrance opens onto a hallway, furnished with an old stove and a wooden bench, leading to the living area, featuring a sofa, a dining table and a built-in kitchen and beautiful local majolica complete with oven, fridge and kettle. The sleeping area boasts two bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed and one with a single bed. A bathroom with a bathtub completes the layout.
Guests will benefit from comfort such as wi-fi and air conditioning.
*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival it may be required to pay a tourist tax, which varies according to local regulations. You will find your reservation details within the Guest Area of Wonderful Italy.

For lovers of relaxation and the sea, eastern Sicily and the area surrounding Syracuse offer everything one could wish for. Starting from the ancient Greek city and heading south, the best equipped and most beautiful beaches to explore are Minareto, Fanusa, Arenella and Fontane Bianche, whose name derives from the natural freshwater springs and the particular white colour of the sand. On the island of Ortigia, you will also find equipped solariums (Zefiro and Nettuno) and a small free beach called Cala Rossa. Further south, some 30 km away, we find some beautiful unspoilt and inaccessible beaches, including Calamosche, Vendicari with its Natural Fauna Oasis and the beautiful San Lorenzo. For culture enthusiasts, the Greek theatre of Syracuse and the entire archaeological park with the Ear of Dionysius, a cave carved into the limestone in the shape of a human ear, the Paolo Orsi museum, and the Latomie dei Cappuccini, as well as Ortigia itself with its historical and cultural beauty as well as its landscape, are definitely worth a visit. Not to be overlooked are Noto, the seafront with the tuna fishery of Avola, and finally the seaside village of Marzamemi. In short, Sicily is a land to explore and its natural and cultural beauties are treasures to fill your eyes with.
Catania Fontanarossa airport is about 1-hour drive from the accommodation.
