Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: No children under 10 years old. There are 10 steps in the garden. This property has a natural water supply via borehole.. Cosy and comfortable, Railway Cottage has plenty of outdoor space in the multi-tiered large rear garden. This provides some fabulous views from various seating areas on each tier, with a few steps leading to each from the patio within the unprotected walls. Certainly, a spot to enjoy some sunshine and unwind in. With three private parking spaces, there is plenty of room for a small group.
The house is best entered from the rear, the slate floors add that authentic character touch. On this level you have the family bathroom, a utility room with your dishwasher, washing machine a microwave and the wine cooler. The kitchen has an eating area and has been updated to maintain the charm of the property. There are two sitting rooms to choose from, one of which creating a quiet area for any member of your party to get away from it all, whether young or old. The main living area has an impressive stone surround housing a wood burner in the inglenook fireplace, great for curling up on colder nights. A double bedroom, a kingsize bed and a modern en-suite wet room with a high sloping ceiling and painted beams.
Head up the narrow slate stairs to the first floor to discover the master bedroom with some great views and exposed stonework and beams with a king size bed. A further bedroom is found next to the upstairs toilet, housing standard bunk beds. Throughout every room in the house, there are interesting quirks that catch the eye, always something further to be discovered.
The cottage sits midway between Camelford and Delabole with both being only one mile away. The elevated position means there are fabulous views towards the Moors and ’Brown Willy’, the highest point in Cornwall.
Camelford has a great range of local amenities including a small supermarket, shops, pubs, a library and leisure centre. Trebarwith Strand, famous for its surf and the Port William pub sitting above the beach, is only three miles away with Port Isaac, the home of Doc Martin, also only a short drive away. The excitement of surfing can be found at Polzeath and Rock along with a choice of fantastic eateries. There are so many places to explore in Cornwall, whether your love is beaches or countryside, there are picture postcard villages and towns all within striking distance. A visit to the world-famous Eden project is a highly recommended great day out.
Relax and unwind, or go for an adrenaline filled visit with water activities, walks or cycle routes. The choice is yours to mix and match as you wish, but the pleasure of relaxing in Railway Cottage enjoying the views and gardens at the end of your day is always going to be a lovely base to draw you back, time and time again.
