About this property
Enjoy tranquil Devon but near coast and pubs.
A former Stables when horses were used on the farm, the upper floor was a hayloft. Then converted to a milking shed and calf shed. The conversion to a holiday cottage was made in 2006/7. We kept original features and used oak from our wood for door lintels. Downstairs floors are tiled or wooden with all wooden floors upstairs.
Pattard has been a barn owl nesting site for many years (dad erected first owl box 30 years ago) and a visit in early summer should enable you to see parent owls flying at dusk to hunt for small mammals. We try to keep areas of tussocks grass in fields and field margins to give the owls some hunting ground.
Layout
Enter from North side nearest farm lane into a hallway. To the left is a shower room with toilet, hand basin and shower. Straight ahead from hallway is door to kitchen, dining area. The kitchen is well appointed with washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and cooker and microwave. To the left of dining area is the sitting room with 2 three seater seethes, and smart TV & DVD. There are French doors opening onto a patio area with outside bench/table. It is in this area you can park your car(s).
From the kitchen dining area there are stairs to the first floor where there are three bedrooms. 1 King and 2 twin bedded rooms. There is also the main bathroom which has a bath, shower (walk in seperate to bath) toilet and hand basin.
Sleeping Arrangements
There are three bedrooms upstairs. 1 King bedded room and two twin bedded rooms

There are plenty of places to walk straight from the door. The south west coast path is a 20 minute walk about 1.5 miles. There are wood, valley walks just to south of Pattard.
Local Area
Barnstaple railway station is the closest railway station and then the 139 bus to Hartland. Exeter or Newquay airports are closest airports both about 1.5 hours drive.
There are 3 pubs in Hartland all with in a 15 minute walk (about 0.75 miles but it is uphill from here).
The coast is 2 miles.
There is a meadow to enjoy outdoor games or sit and relax or walk your dog.
Getting there
From Bideford follow A39 for about 10 miles until you see a right hand turn for Hartland B3248. Follow this for 2 miles until you get to a sharp left hand bend with a road leading straight ahead signed Hartland Point, Hartland Lighthouse. Follow this for 2 miles until you come to a crossroads where you have to stop (Youltree Cross) Turn left to Hartland. Follow this road for about 0.5 miles down the hill. On a very sharp left hand bend you will see the entrance to Pattard straight ahead. There is a sign saying Pattard Restaurant & Pattard. Follow the farm road passing a house on your right and The Stable is the second building (two story) on the left of the track. Car parking is around the back, so follow past next building turning left and then left again to arrive at South side of The Stable.
