About this property
Casa Ranas, Osa, gorgeous home on edge of private 32acres of forest, easy access
This gorgeous property is situated in an acre of lovely garden with big trees, lawns, and 3 ponds from which emanates an amazing chorus of frogs every evening. The land then extends back towards Corcovado with another 32 acres of rainforest, which has a huge range of mammals in (eg ocelot, puma, tayra, tapir). Sitting on the veranda, the rainforest is right there and there are often monkeys or birds to see moving about
Here's a couple of recent reviews from another booking platform:
"If you are a nature's lover Casa Ranas is the place to stay. We took some great pictures of kingfishers, tiger herons and over 10 species of frogs. The birds are plentiful and will wake you up in the morning with their unique songs and calls. The house is very clean and comfortable. Worth every penny. Jim and Sebastian are very helpful and respond quickly to any questions you may have. Food in nearby Playa Blanca was fantastic and so was in Puerto Jimenez. La Palma has a very decent grocery store in case you want to cook your own"
"Casa de las Ranas was incredible! You will feel completely immersed in the jungle there. It’s perfect for a Nature-lover. We saw SO many animals in the backyard — lizards, turtles, herons, toucans, scarlet macaws, and countless other birds! The trail behind the house is super fun to take. Kathrin communicated with us throughout our stay and she always had AMAZING recommendations. If you stay here, I encourage you to do a guided tour in Corcovado National Park (Kathrin has guides she recommends). This was a truly unique & unforgettable experience"

About the host
Hosted by Jim Taylor

I am Jim, from the UK. I love Costa Rica and in particular the Osa... Things aren’t perfect in this part of CR and the humidity is insane, but I love the wildlife and bird life. I spend at least 6 months per year here, doing wildlife photography.
I have some co-hosts - Seb & Kathrin. They live about 10 minutes away and are originally from Germany. Their German (and Spanish) are better than mine!
What makes this property unique
The property is located right next to the rainforest. Over and above the garden, there's 32 acres of rainforest you can explore. There are not manicured paths to walk but there are trails and there's a guide to these trails, in the house. I'll even take you for a walk there if I'm there
